Title: Dash Pads
Post by: CFMopar on January 16, 2021, 09:30:05 AM
Besides Just Dashes, is there anyone else that does Dash Pads? Or other options people have done to refinish their dashes?

I used one of those covers as a kid but don want to do something like that again.  I've seen some wrap it in leather or vinyl but not sure if that's a good solution either.

Not look for a factory look so all options are on the table.

ABCmopars.

They could be requiring cores at this moment.

Some other distributors along ebay offering fiber glass or plastic frame and original metal frame. Keep away from the fiber glass frame.

Quite ago there was one called Carolina superdashes or something like that.

Ultimate Ride pads is another one coming to mind

Thanks Nacho.

Here's another question.  Are frames same in ac and non ac dashes? Anyone convert non ac to ac before?

Non A/C dash frame don't get the driver side vent provision for the vent. Otherwise the rest of frame and all pads are virtually the same. Non A/C cars would get passenger side insert without vents but pad will be still the same.

I mean pads virtually the same because 74 pads got a softer vinyl grain pattern than the rest. I guess repro/remanufactured pieces don't pay attention to that.

Firewall changes between A/C and non A/C thought ( if you care about )

Hi I live in Canada and bought a dash pad for my 66 charger from a company in Ottawa Ont. Canada from a company called PG Classics for $300.00 US. included shipping. It looks original and bolted on with no trouble. They reproduce a lot of Mopar parts. They have a web site.  Good luck Bill

Thanks bud!

If it doesn't work out I'm leaning to repairing it and flocking it maybe.

Just purchased a new Dash Pad from ABC Motorsports, very pleased with it US$449.

https://abcmoparts.com/products/1971-1972-1973-74-dodge-charger-plymouth-road-runner-b-body-dash-pad-steel-core-new

Took me a couple of weeks to pull the trigger but figured the car deserved it.

Of course being in Canada, shipping $95.80 plus the $75 core charge = US$619.80. don't want to convert to Canadian right now, lol.

Delivered by UPS (not damaged for once), was well packed in plastic and bubble wrap and reinforced box edges (though one end the tape was ripped, exposing the pad)

It's very sturdy and am happy with it. There is no flaw in it just looks that way with the light.
