Title: Quarter glass rubber stops
Post by: Dino on February 29, 2016, 10:50:20 AM
On a 2nd gen each quarter panel has two metal stops that stop the large bracket holding the glass going up. They are mounted high on the inner panel.

Each has a rubber band around them. Mine are either worn or missing. Does anyone sell these?

Wondering same thing as I found one missing on mine last weekend.

I used several thick rubber o-rings instead of the original rubber band, then dipped the o-rings in liquid rubber (plasti-dip) to eliminate any possibility of movement.  The area is concealed, so what the heck.

If I remember correctly, I used vacuum line. Same concept but then I didn't have to deal w/the cotton fibers that a lot of heater hoses have.

For odd ball stuff like that I use "Sugru". It's like putty that hardens to rubber.
