Two nice ones, the first as a driver, the 2nd maybe not as much. What is going on with the hood on the restored 6 pack though?

just looks like the hood pins are not adjusted down enough to pull the nose of the hood all the way down

The 4 bbl car seems like it would be a nice car to drive around in and a car you could enjoy using. It is not represented as perfect so it will be curious as to what it sells for. The gate number of 26 is the only one with those numbers I have seen.

The 6 bbl car seems like the owner will want a lot for it. Nicely done.

I know I'm not very smart. I am under the belief that the tags you show have gate numbers of 15 and 29 respectively, which seem to be very common. Someone more knowledgeable than me would actually know something about them.

This fender tag has an engine/tranny anomaly on it.
122 is the code for the 440-6bbl engine with a 4 speed, but has a E86 and U codes for a 440 -4bbl engine and D32 for the 727 tranny :icon_smile_question:

I see what it is on the hood of the 6 pack-it is missing the nose cone gasket I believe. Still a nice car and pushing $100k on the Bay now. The 4 barrel near 80k. Good catch RealWing on that decode!

I think the 6 pack car is also missing a rubber snubber on rear frame. If I remember right there should be one on both rear frame rails. You can see where they once sat here where I got It circled in black on upper left of pic. Unless Superbirds did not get them or I'm thinking of something else :shruggy: LEON.

Nothing special about a Superbird in that regard.... It looks like there was some cut/copy/paste going there....

Must have been a rusty car. That rear end looks rougher than ours at tax time.....

I can not tell from the picture. Does the 4 bbl car fender tag have an inspector's stamp pressed in on it?

Superbird #1 has hit reserve.  Its a sale now (unless the winner turns out to be a Nigerian Prince).

What would cause an anomaly with the fender tag on the 4-bbl?
