Notify me of updates to 1813-B Mopar 1968-69 Charger Glove box Door Black
Tell someone you know about this product.
did not see "pre order"
did I dream this up & or imagined it :P , that 68 /69 none ac pieces were being repoped to , or did I just get confused with the 70 :shruggy:
Looks like both AC and Non AC ones are being re-made.
Nice. :2thumbs:
yes , on the pg classic website,
stitching looks missing though , so maybe not 100 % correct, but if you have a nicely restored car and ratty dash pads like mine
? what are your options
I read that BE/A was also going to re pop these, they stated that they would have the stitching because they knew no one would want them if it did not have it.

oh right , that's good ! thanks for the info  :2thumbs:
wonder what they will look like compared to the originals , anyone orders one , would appreciate you taking a picture or 3 , & post here ! especially the none Ac centre pad :yesnod:
  :popcrn:
Has anyone pulled the trigger and gotten these in? I have my originals off...They're in great shape aside from what I presume was a 60/70s cigarette burn near the passenger center vent (although, it may have been the 80s-haha).
I'm interested in seeing a better picture of them.
Just fyi, PG Classic=Canada, B/E&A=US...basically the same stuff...unless something has changed over the years. Mike at B/E&A is very easy to work with...
any update on these pads?
are they available yet?
These will be one of the last things I will buy but I will buy them.
I guess they are only in black aren't they?
Looks like they have gone missing from their website? Any ideas? I may call tomorrow to see what the deal is.
Spoke with them, they said they are not ready yet but would be in a few months....
Hello I am Stefan from the Netherlands. For my 69 Charger, I want to buy new lower dash pads w a/c.
Someone has an update?
Thanks!
I actually placed my order on Friday, he said no ETA on when they will be in but I used a 25% off code to lock in my price. I saved $100 on non ac pad and glovebox door.
I put my order in and paid for a set of these on Cyber monday of 2014 for my 69 Charger. Have called several times about these since The guy that answers the phone in Canada has no idea what the status is but lies to you saying another two weeks, another month, etc. I did find out that the original owner of PG Classics, Peter Gee, spends all his time in China. I think his brother is running the shop in Canada. I'm thinking that they are delaying putting these into production until they get enough pre-orders. There is no telling whether they will ever produce them. I called Just Dashes about these. You have to send in your cores and they use the metal interior parts to make you new pads. they will not just make the right and left dash pads. They say that you have to have the glove box door done at the same time so all three will match. The fake stitching on the originals is not reproduced. Cost for all three in black---$750. I doubt this includes your cost to send them your cores or the shipping back.
It's a shame that Classic Industries has not offered these. Lots of folks need them for both the ac and non-ac 68-69 chargers.
If you look in the Classic Industries catalog they do offer them
part # MB 179803, MB 179804
They are also on "back order" and have been for months...
Don't get me started on Just Dashes. F them bastards. They should be called Just Gashes. I'll leave at that.
What do you need A/C or Non A/C? And what color?

I need AC lower in black, but I'll just stick with my sun-warped one if these repops don't look pretty original. I don't plan on pre-ordering anything until I see how good/bad they are.
Ditto, I'm in for the lower center AC pad, but quality will be a consideration with such a visible piece that has to integrate with other pieces.
Just received an automated e-mail from PG Classics on these pads. There seems to be no A/C one and the pics of the LH pad, center pad and glove box are dark making it hard to see the detail.

Review on center pad...
Lacks stitching!
Posted by Unknown on 2015 Aug 19th
I recently purchased one of these for my 68 Charger along with the lower pad for the left side of the steering wheel. The lower left pad has the stitching along with the glovebox but the center pad does not! It's still a million times better than the old bloated original that was on the car. It is well made. It's too bad they didn't pay attention to the detail of the stitching as with it, this would be a top notch piece!

 thanks for the info , sounds about right , as with soo many repop parts , why make them if they are not correct :brickwall:
I remember reading a post or something about these pads awhile back and they said theirs would have correct stiching and they would not sell them if they did not.
Guess someone forgot to tell the Chineese...
Pics?

So far Tony's repro items have been very nice. I got a pair of the convertible, interior, A-Pillar trim pieces that go on the left & right side of the windshield & they look good. I should test fit them to be 100% positive.
Why anyone would make the dash pads without the stitching is just stupid. ::)
Wonder if Tony's will make both A/C and non A/C center pad sets.
Thanks for posting TT
Just got off the phone with Tony. He will not be offering the AC center lower dash pad this spring (2016) for 68-69 Chargers. Only the non-AC version. Right now, he has no real plans to offer the AC type. He said that he doesn't think that he could sell that many of them. He did say that if he had 200 folks sign up to buy that he would offer them. Otherwise, it probably is never going to happen. No telling if PG Classics will ever offer that piece. It's been over 4 years now and they still don't have it to the best of my knowledge. Maybe with the slowdown in Chinese industry going on right now they will be looking for something to do----like make some lower dash pads. I'm not holding my breath on that.
I wonder if that piece could be made out of solid blow molded plastic? I know that is not correct and would not have the resiliency like the original but at this point, who cares. If it looked correct I'd buy one. Sure would like a lot better than the one I have now that is pulling away from the metal backing. I mentioned this to Tony but he said that he wouln't be interested in pursuing that angle.
I did thank Tony for what he is offering. Was a real nice guy to talk to on the phone.

thanks for the update / info !!
yep Tony is a real good guy !! had a number of things from him in the past !!
He would sell more AC's. They warp and distort terribly. Far worse than the non-AC style. Many would buy a new one if it was correct.
Any updates on these?

Then I saw this on his website:
Note: When an item is in stock, it will be indicated below the photo and be listed on our home page. No need to call or email to check if they are available.
I guess I'll just keep checking his website.
I need one also. Estimated arrival 2122 :brickwall: (Wingman)

I wonder if these would be something ABC Moparts would be able to make ? :shruggy:

I just ordered a set of these lower dash pads in black for an A/C car from PG Classics.
I'm literally taking a shot in the dark, here. :scope:
The pictures on their website of these parts look like they were taken under water -at midnight- through a sheet of crumpled waxed paper.
Their 15% off discount code (SUMMER139) ends today.
So, I said what the hell - I'll take a shot. :shruggy:
Stay tuned...
:popcrn:
I got an email today from PG Classics.
My lower dash pads are on their way...

I fully intend to post several pictures, and give my opinion.
It might be a while, though.
China is a long ways away.
The lower dash pads came today.
They actually look pretty good.
I haven't had a chance to do a side by side comparison with my 53+ year old melted-looking originals yet, but I think these might be OK.

Been there with my 383, the previous owner thought oil was leaking from the filter, it was leaking from the power steering pump. So he tightened the filter super tight.
Backside of the new parts, complete with rusty fingerprints from sweaty Chinese fingers. :slap:
There are no mounting points for the A/C vents, something will have to be added to fix this, also there are no screw holes for mounting the plastic trim piece under the steering column.
Old, melted, sticky, disgusting and the new one.
Grain close up-old, melted, sticky and disgusting.
Grain close up, new.
Looks good !!!!!
They do look good. Thanks for the write up.

Yes, PG Classics.
I saw a set at holley moparty . look good. But, do they fit a dash and each other?
Received mine today after only 8 days from Canada. They look better in person than they do in pictures. My pieces are powder coated black where the metal should be. No rust on these.

Looking forward to a review of the installation on these. Please provide details and photos after installation.
I will post pics of the installation, but it will probably not be for a while.
Meanwhile, here are some pictures of the arrived parts, they look pretty good at first glance, but I have not compared them with the originals (which are severly shrunken)
@Daytona R/T SE: Does you new pads look the same on both sides above the steering column? Mine are a little off.

...Daytona R/T/Hemidog, I need replacements of the lower dash pads/glovebox door for my 68' Charger. I could not observe if yours has the faux stitching. What is your opinion of their fit and overall appearance? Source of purchase - PG Classics or others?
Thanks.

Yes, they do have the faux stiching (see my second picture in the second post with pictures). I got them from PG Classic.
