I was looking through the charger registry site at the old litterature and there is a statement related to the base vs R/T and 500 bright drip rail molding that I do not completely understand.
It states:
Bright Drip-Rail Molding.
The Bright drip-rail molding, standard on Charger R/T and Charger 500 is retained in Charger. But it ends at the base of the C-pillar instad of countinuing into the belt molding as in the Charger R/T and Charger 500.
My question. When I look at my car, which is a base model hard top, the drip molding wraps around and it looks like it meets up with the belt molding. So, does anyone have a pic of an R/T or 500 that I might compare. Unfortunately, I do not have my car here right now, so I cannot post a pic. I will do that when I get the car back from the shop.
Thanks,
James
what it sounds like to me , something along the lines of the 68/69 roadrunner , has/have stainless trim on drip rails , but no stainless trip on top of doors & rear quarters , :shruggy:
cant say ive ever noticed , thought all chargers had stainless belt mouldings :shruggy: but the XH was the base model :scratchchin:
the 70 charger registry guys will know more about this :scratchchin:
Mine has drip rail and belt molding on the fender tag so I know it was ordered with them. What puzzles me is the strange wording in the description I quoted about the c pillar. :shruggy: I must be reading something wrong, or there is another configuration. Eventually, I will figure it out. Thanks for the response.
perhaps it was an option on a XH just like the clock :scratchchin: with the clock being standard along with belt mouldings on a 68 -69
heres a picture of mine ,
thought all 68 -70 chargers were the same :shruggy:
this is what i was talking about , just found a good pictures with out belt mouldings , perhaps all XH cars came like this :shruggy: standard :scratchchin: :shruggy:
