Title: my hood is out of adjustment on the passenger rear side
Post by: 70charginglizard on August 29, 2007, 10:32:38 AM
my hood is out of adjustment on the passenger rear side. After I shut the hood I always have to go to that corner and shove it down to get it flush.

I'm pretty sure I just need to move the spring to hood attachement joint there a little to correct this. Right?

Sounds like your hood hinge is shot. Pushing it down after closing it is an early sign.

As a fix, try lowering the hinge where it bolts up to the fender apron. Try the rearward bolts first, & tilt the hinge down a bit. As a tip, I use small pieces of masking tape over the bolt slots to "gauge" where you've been as you adjust.

Good Luck!

When's the last time you lubed the hinges with some WD-40?

Long time. I'll try that.

I tried adjusting the position of the mounting bolts but it didn't work.
