Title: Sway bar tab on control arm broke. Is this common?
Post by: 375instroke on June 19, 2018, 01:31:13 PM
1-1/4" sway bar on '70 control arm.  Solution to make it stronger?  Just weld on some reinforcement, or come up with a stronger end link mount?

I'm sure that somehow developed a hairline crack in the metal during it's lifetime, and that's now the end result of that sway bar mount tab.

But i guess you can repair it if you weld, but Hotchkis makes and sells nice repop ones, but you would still need to weld the new one onto the LCA.

I think is the first time I see that. Meaning with this, it should be an easy fix and still hard to beat with no extra reinforcement more than a good weld job
