Title: 70 Signal Light Mounting Screws
Post by: kent on January 15, 2019, 05:49:31 PM
Hey guys another specialty question again. Looked in the parts book, no luck. I was wondering what the length of the two lower mounting screws on the signal light housing of my 70 Charger.  The screws that attaches the housing to the front valance. There is two on each light. I have what I took off years ago but two of them are a poor replacement with a hex head that did the trick to hold the lights on. And I have two others that look like they are original that have a Philips head on them.
One is 9/16" long and the other is just shy of 7/16. I'm wondering which one should be used long one or the short one?  I would just like to put the right size one's in place. Not a matter of life and death. Just trying to be correct. Here's a shot of what I'm dealing with.

Thanks for the time to check it out.

Originals were Phillips head.

not sure if this is any help  , on 68 / 69  its the smaller one  with the  machine thread ,  see green arrow ,  don't know much about 70s  , on the 68-70 the  OEM valance  screw holes are counter sunk  , so only needing that short screw  :scratchchin:
