this is some of the prices we are seeing over here ATM in Australia for the 68-70 chargers lately. :icon_smile_angry:
Thoughts on this one. Never seen a 68 in plum crazy, thought that was 70 only colour.
Nice car none the less, but a 383 not even an RT with a 440, i couldnt muster up paying 100k for it.
Mind you i bought in my 440 true RT 68 in qq1 blue(original colour) last year for a good chunk less than that.
Wonder how long it will sit, maybe it will sell, maybe it wont, seems fairly tidy and clean, i just couldnt pay that for something that wasnt an RT with a bigger engine, but thats just my opinion anyway.

I guess the price has the import costs rolled into it? granted not my cup of tea either, but not too much out of line price wise for an export?.....would this vehicle also require outfitting for RHD?

I don't know of any countries where LHD cars have to be converted to RHD if they are one of the 50+ countries that drive on the left.....not saying there isn't somewhere though. Certainly not here or OZ....you don't have to convert Brit or Japanese cars to LHD if you import them to the US do you??
No, if the car is an overseas import that is LHD and was produced prior to 1988 it can remain LHD
If you import a car that is LHD that is made after 1988, it must be converted RHD
The black in the engine bay is on the firewall and the lower edges of the fender aprons.

Look, 100k probably isnt out of the ballpark for people that know the market. But for the average person who really loves chargers and wants one. I HIGHLY doubt they would be able to afford 100k for one.
But at the same time, they probably had the same mentality i had, i can import one out of the USA for half of that. Well, realistically, no you cant anymore. Those days are quickly fading away. Id say, by the end of the year, Anyone in Australia if you dont have triple digits to spend on a second gen charger, forget it. Plain and simple.

Hmmmm...I recall reading an article many many (decades ago/70's) years ago about a "gent" in Australia that converted US LHD drive cars to RHD when they entered Australia, he specialized in Mopars had molds for auto consoles, dashes etc for Cuda/Challenger/Charger models to swap the configurations over to the "right" side, and if I recall the brake lites also needed to have an amber section added as per "Aussie law"..... I ask seeing that you would be more in the know about such requirements? just curious why these vehicles were converted as described?....

I would say. The fellas who are getting them converted do so because it takes some getting used to driving a left hand drive car on the left side of the road. When i first started on my charger. I was all over the roads. Now. Its like nothing
Only reason i can think of really.
you don't have to anymore , can rego them left drive .but back in the 70's-90's you had to have them converted or run them on "special rego " limited drive

We obviously also drive on the left (the correct side IMO!!!...LOL)....but ive had a few LHD cars (Beetle, Lancia Delta Intergrale, BMW 2002)...and apart from the overtaking I never really notice much difference. Dont think it would feel like a real American car if I converted it to RHD.

The regulations also vary from state to state here, so something that will pass in WA (Western Australia) may not pass in Victoria or SA etc
My '69 didn't need amber turn signals installed but in WA I've seen '70 Chargers that had to add them.
I know in WA at least, the cars have to/had to meet the equivalent standards of locally built models of the same year in the way of things like seat belts, turn signals lens colour and pollution gear.
