Not that familiar with that house..
"The bid goes on"... so what does that mean?  It did not sell at block and looking for after auction bidder?  Didn't that last sell for around 110 last time?

Man I like that white one.. (each time if comes back up for sale..lol).

Bid goes on means the car did not meet reserve and is still available.  Call Mecum and they will tell you what kind of offer it will take to make a deal.

That makes sense.  That particular car is great with colors and options to my brains, maybe a little more than the 440 car I have.  It would be interesting to know the number, but I am not likely a buyer at the moment.  Thanks.  Been watching the auctions more on TV, they might be interesting to go to one day...

People are going to get mad at me on this one, but here it goes.

I have seen this car in person at the auctions.   It is a great car, remarkably correct in pretty much every way.    But...it suffers a little in comparison to a freshly restored car, which is often over restored but shows really well in an auction environment.

Personally, I think that is why this car hasn't yet found a home.   This car stand alone is really great, at auction it is competing with an awful lot of often over restored and very pretty cars.

On TV, all these cars look really great and shiny, in person there is a marked difference between pretty fresh paint and something that has been around for a while.

IMO, this car should probably be sold privately versus at auction, at a well stated sell price.

Tan Top: you do a great job posting (preserving) the "links" details and photos. As you saw on another post, I am trying to help out and do the same.

I think you have double posted the details for the bronze car.  Looks like Bronze is the new White (hehehe).  I saw it when I was comparing the options of the white car to the McLeod car.

The image below is NOT for either car in this post.  It is for a 4-speed white C500 that was also well optioned.

Speaking of "bronze" C500's, I have the hubcaps from one that was in Rockford area in 1969.  Owner took off the factory steel rims right away and added different rims.  He had the hubcaps on a shelf for years.  When I had my C500 he sold them to me and I never put them on my car.

Sorry to go off topic, but please contact me if anyone knows of this Rockford Illinois C500 bronze/copper car  so we can reunite the numbers matching hubcaps!

After looking at the Mecum posting for the T3 Bronze hemi 500 and seeing A32 listed for the axle code, I wonder if that is a misprint or if that car was an automatic originally and converted to a 4 speed.  The code for the Super Track-Pack with a 4 gear should be A34.  Is there any fender tag info available on this car.  Might explain why the high bid was only $95K

Which car are you talking about?  From my limited experience, color does matter and can mean $20K to 40K and much more in value on high end cars.  Paper work?  Minor details wrong, may throw off the discriminating collector.  Hoses, windshield washer, alternator pulley, are all wrong.  Are date codes correct? How about basic bolts on intake, alternator bracket and water pump.  If generic, vice correct, the whole restoration becomes suspect.  Etc....  If those short cuts taken, what about the big ticket items.

Which gets back to your point on a generic minded collector, who doesn't want an older restoration.  So high dollars go to the car that is newly and maybe over restored.

The other thing I think that plays is who owns the car and who did the restoration.  If your going to pay top dollar for a car, as an investment, if it was not restored correctly (even if appearance look right), you just may not spend the money.

So, from my perspective, color and quality of the restoration effect the value of these cars.

I was at B-J in Scottsdale and saw this white 500 and the copper 500 that was there.     The white 500 was remarkably accurate.    The copper 500 was kind of a survivor/resto with a remarkable history.

But...I have been going to auctions for over 10 years.    A really shiny car, right color, with a fresh restoration will win every time, particularly after bidders have had a few drinks.    I have seen plenty of incredibly accurate, benchmark, cars go for less than what you described which is wrong fasteners, repro parts throughout, etc.     Its all about bling!!

I agree that color is worth a lot.   Fresh, rotisserie as well, as long as the body work is well done.

On the white, the washer bottle is wrong, the pump is wrong, the wire bracket is wrong, the alternator pulley is wrong, negative battery cable.  Just some obvious stuff from a photo.  A closer look at parts could prove other parts not accurate.

I think he means the picture with the details (list of options/features) for the white car is actually the details of the bronze car. It's white automatic but the picture says bronze 4-speed. ;)

I have a question that has been on my mind for a long time. Since we have preserved pictures of two hemi 500s (thanks to tan top).-----

The fuel line routing next to the radiator hose is not the same on both cars.  Which one is correct?  Or are they both correct?
The hoses are different as well.

The -reproduction- fuel line on my 69 coronet will only fit behind the radiator hose no matter what hose shape is used.

My B5-Blue Interior Black Stripe Charger 500 was sold used at Rock River Ford in Rockford. If you want to know if any Charger 500's were sold new in Rockford, please contact me.

Here is a survivor car pic from an old feature in one of the old magazines.    The owner of this car is a regular on the Lift Off Hood Forum website.   This is a 69 GTX
