Just watching the video of Aerosmith at the Texass Ja 1978 and there 5:45 was a couple of young dudes crashed out in a 2nd gen Charger red with white interior. Now I just have to post up a screen shot. :D

Kids have it wayyyyyy easier today!!
Ahhhh freeze framing the VCR. Yup, kids are technology spoiled these days. My kids were never alive when there wasn't such a thing as cell phones. I showed them pictures of an old car phone (full phone in a bag that connected to the cig lighter and an antenna) and they thought it was some kind of joke, so I had them go google it to prove it to them.
Funny, I had to buy my parents their first VCR when I was 14 so I could use it.......for tv shows...yeah that's it tv shows....... :icon_smile_big:
HA! I remember the "Brick" you held up top your head like you were "Sonny Crockett" on Miami Vice!!
Well, similar thread title. Not exactly the same idea.

Just hit the "print screen" button when the scene is on the monitor, then got to paint and select "paste". Save as required.
I had to laugh at this because while I normally look for Chargers in backgrounds of movies, tv shows, etc, my mom is the master at this. Whenever I stop at my parents house to visit or work on the Charger, she will always show me a Charger that she finds in the background of her Lifetime movies or soap operas, commercials, etc. Shes really good at knowing the difference between the 68-70s now. I find it funny and cool

I think I still have that same video somewhere....I remember spying that car back when I first watched the video...
...is there anything that's not on youtube?
Thats it. Look at those stoners sprawled out all over the hood like that. No respect at all.
Left the TV on while I was cleaning up the kitchen and a movie from 2000 was on "the Extreme Adventures of Super Dave".... Should be Extreme Stupid Dave, but as I was about to change the channel... They start fixing a 1970 dodge charger!!! The only issue is they added a jet engineer e on back with fins!! WTF. :brickwall:
Of course now I need to watch the rest to see what happens to the car!!!
I have that same video. Huge Aerosmith fan here! I met a somewhat famous friend of thiers some years ago and he took me backstage, where i had Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton sign my console door of my Charger. (that i brought with me) Never got Steven to sign it though. He was too busy swinging from the branches of a small tree at the time.

there is a 68 in the Long Beach parking lot in the first one, when they are chasing him through the alley and he hits the sofa and goes through the lot.
Watched the original GI60S last night. There's a Rust red/primer '68, a Red w/ black tailstripe '69 R/T, a Lime green 71-72 Rallye(Door scoop thingies) in it.
There's a parked 69 or 70 Charger in 'Argo'.

I can't find any good photos online & I don't have the movie recorded, but I watched this one with my daughter when she was little, "Star Kid".
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120478/
There is a scene towards the end where this robot (kid in a alien suit if I recall?) has a fight with someone in a junkyard. I do remember seeing a ton of Mopars in the junkyard & couldn't help wondering if it was a Mopar only yard, or the Mopar section in the yard. I'm almost sure there were Chargers, too. :shruggy:

I just saw a 68 Charger in a recruitment ad for the armed forces... Kids talking about what they wanted to do when they grow up. Saw half a rear end for like 3 seconds. Drove my wife nuts cuz I had to rewind to double check. I was right!

There's an ABC News show on HLN called "What Would You Do". Anyway, I was watching an episode last week because they actually filmed it in my old hometown. It was cool seeing the old place on TV. About 13 minutes into the show, the picture below is what I see. That's my car! I almost fell off the chair. It was only on for a few seconds, but was still funny to see. I can't get a video of it anywhere online, but if you watch HLN and the episode about harassing elderly people comes on, you will see it. I had no idea they were filming, because all the cameras were hidden.

If you know when it aired, you can watch it on their web site, but it looks like they only have them from seasons 2,4,5 and 6. :shruggy: http://abc.go.com/watch/what-would-you-do/SH5555951 (http://abc.go.com/watch/what-would-you-do/SH5555951)
There's a scene in the first episode of The Partridge Family where their bus is cruising through Las Vegas and they are driving along side a white 68' for a while...
Dirty Harry has one parked on street just as they go into city hall, green 69. Very obvious and also, when he comes out of strip bar tailing Andy Robinson's charactor, u see a 69 on the street in front of camera, its night time, but u know the shape of these cars and the tail light's illumination give it away. Lastly, Magnum Force (Dirty Harry 2) at very very beginning, you see a red 69 coming at camera traveling up the hill (Opposite side to Harry's car).
I like the curiosity of where these background cars are today, what has happened to them?
Over the weekend I was watching the latest Herbie movie with my Nephew and when Lindsey is in the junkyard trying to find a car she sits in a crashed 1970 charger and pretends she's racing!!! :2thumbs: :coolgleamA: The front bumper looks mint too!!! :smilielol:

If you check out the 1967 Lee Marvin Movie "Point Blank", you will see a black 1967 Charger parked behind him in the tunnel as he is looking towards some bad guys standing in the LA River bottom. This is the same river/bridge area used in a lot of movies, such as Blue Thunder, and Grease. The car is only on the screen for a few minutes, but it did get a little air time. The movie includes some Chryslers and a Dodge station wagon as well. By the way, the Chrysler Imperial gets some "serious" air time....but like most Mopars that get "serious" air time...it doesn't fair to well....
This movie was remade many years later as "Payback" with Mel Gibson which includes several Mopars as well.

My nephew is a skateboarder and he posted this pic on his face book poking fun of the old school steel wheel skateboards. What my nephew doesn't realize is that his uncle (me) really likes this pic but not because of the joke, isn't that a '68 in the background with its headlight doors opened? :shruggy:

Here you go:
By the way, this comes from the website 'Internet Movie Car Database'.
Search for the car or movie you want and it has screenshots of where that car features.

Sure there is. They are always turning up where you don't expect them.
I´m not sure but I remember I watched a black 1968 Dodge Charger in one of the episodes of the TV serie called CASTLE.
It was the car driven by the bad guys of that episode. Unfortunately, I don´t remember neither the season nor the episode title.

Was watching Emergency! on Netflix and they drive away from a scene where a kid gets locked in a freezer and there is a Daytona parked on the street. Red with black stripe and white 'Daytona' lettering in the stripe. Season 1, Episode 10, 26:00 mark.

Not to mention that anytime a 2nd gen Charger gets more than 60 seconds of screen time they have to jump it or crash or roll it over or blow it up. It's gotta be contractual.

Yeah, those are Swedish plates. Many cars with narrow license plate place got those double row plates in Sweden. I think you cannot get that style anymore. We had similar ones in Finland too but we did only get one double row plate (front end is supposed to be fitted with a single row plate but I have seen some cars with the double row plate in the front).
Sweden has nice web service where you can check vehicle registration details with a plate number. And it doesn't even cost anything (we have similar but its not free). I just learned that the Duster has been successfully inspected last time in 2006 (in 2008 it failed to pass) and it has been taken off the road use since 2007. First date of use is 12th April 1970. Its an original Swedish car and VIN is VL29COR207209. Basically everything except the owner's name and address are listed.
I located the place where that picture is taken from. Its in Stockholm. Google streetview link. (https://www.google.fi/maps/place/Tukholma,+Ruotsi/@59.3131917,18.0302483,3a,75y,16.01h,92.15t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sRbmkHGCpF6OYTt_nbmFmNg!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x465f763119640bcb:0xa80d27d3679d7766) I have spent one weekend some years ago in a hotel half mile from that place so the scenery looked familiar. There is no Chargers in the image but comically one locally produced nice looking coupe seems to be needing towing assistance.

My buddy gave me a group of movies from his external hard drive and "Free Ride" was one of the movies.

This is a NSFW post but I'm currently alone in the office so I don't care. Girl with a Charger. (http://img01.xmissymedia.com/galleries/pixmix/20150125-MIX694/PixMix694_img042.jpg) She's pretty much naked but there is a Charger in the picture if you look closely enough.
I just get a 403 forbidden from that link.
Interesting. It still works here. The page where the picture is from is a Dutch page. Are European (naughty) pages often blocked there?
Maybe this link works. (http://i.imgur.com/zI8oOjK.jpg)

In the link that opens on my P/C there is a "+" icon that if you click on it, it will enlarge thus you can see more close up detail (and the girl) that's how I noticed about the dash once I got my eyes focused away from the model lol. Also the pic that opens up in my P/C does not pan out wide enough do show the side markers, so I did not have that to go on. Also if you look where the interior door look button would be on a 68 it does not appear in the photo. Where it would be on a 1969 is covered by the lovely model.
Just sayin :shruggy:

Not sure if anyone else watches "The Americans" but it is set in early 80s. Mopars everywhere including a Cordoba they regularly drive.
This week, a 72 Cuda got dropped on a Northrup employee and there was a 69 Charger in the background on another scene.
Great show, not just for the classic cars but overall.
In the movie 'The Dilemma' Vince Vaughn and Kevin James use engine sounds from the 68 Charger and use it on electric cars that produce no noise.
In the Kid Rock song "You Never Met A Mother F*ck*r Quite Like Me" He has a General Lee in his drive way and slides across the hood on it.

I may see a hood pin on your spot, back about the right distance and close to the side edge of the hood,
and it could very well be dirt on the photo. Did you ever notice how many Volks Wagons are in vintage photos?

In February I visited Rétromobile (a big classic car show in France). I was there to buy a car from an auction that was held with the show. I didn't get anything as the prices went totally wild. But the show was awesome. Not many American cars were displayed but still some. There was also an area where artists were showing and selling their car related works. Most were nice paintings featuring classic Ferraris and other pieces of art that wealthy car collectors could put to their walls. But then I found this pair.

I thought the same thing too Ghoste but I figured that pics #1 & #3 were iconic 2nd gen Chargers from their on-screen stardom that pic #2 was aiming for Bullit :shruggy:
Maybe. I guess I just took them as inspired by. The GL is a sure thing but I saw the 68 as being more like a black 68 in a Vanishing Point scenario. Thats art I suppose, we all see something different? :shruggy:

I was thinking about the Vanishing Point scene too. I think one cop was using his own Charger for the chase and used some "you need a Mopar to catch a Mopar" type of line. Or was it Hemi? I can't remember and I'm too tired to check.
I have no idea where that train scene might be coming from. I remember two Charger scenes with a train but that doesn't seem to be either of them. Maybe the artist made his own.

French Connection, the first one with Gene Hackman and Roy Schneider made in -71 or -72.
Parked at side of the road,on the curb.
About 17-18 min , there's Brown -69
and at 18-20min there's a white -68
Again at 43-46 min , a Brown -69
And last one i spotted was about 1hour 17min mark, where maybe the same brown Charger appeared.Closer lookout shows that it's a R/T(emblem on rear quarter) and front bumper plus front side indicator lens made me say that it's a -69.
I hope that someone can provide screenshot's.

It copies the actual link for the video instead of a still shot. It adds "?t=138" to the end of the youtube URL, where 138 = the number of seconds into the video (2:18 in this example).

One other tip that is helpful sometimes -
Start
in the search box type 'snipping tool' (it will autocomplete)
you may want to right click on it and 'pin to Start Menu'
It takes a 'snip' of the area you define and copies it to the clipboard. Can be saved as .jpg, etc.

Amazing, I'm originally from Ohio and they require front license plates. But all 5 stinkin' neighboring states do not. Now I live in Nevada and like Ohio they also require front license plates :brickwall:

Okay, so not technically on topic with respect to this thread but it is a Charger and it is in the back ground and I didn't expect it there. (I just wanted to see more happy Charger threads at the top-getting sick of being mad at the anti-flag crowd)

Ghoste are you saying that the 69 behind you was purely random? No Mopar show near by? Not somebody you already know locally?
If so that is way cool!!! What are the odds? I mean you're driving your classic where everyone gives you attention and you happen to look up in your rear view mirror and there's another Charger! And not just another Charger but a 2nd gen Charger and a 69 at that :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
A little of both. I was just out driving and he came up behind me unexpectedly but it is someone I know.

It's funny that ever since i read this topic, everytime i watch a movie,my eyes start to search for Chargers in the background
Last night i hitted pretty good and did not see this movie in this topic at quick glance.
Pete
haha ive been scanning old films , frame by frame for years looking for chargers :P
yes I remember those , in that film , think the white 68 had a patch of gray primer too on the quarter or fender :scratchchin: not seen that film for years , did video tape it at the time , but long since gone , been waiting for someone to post it on youtube , then i'll do some screen captures & post them here :yesnod:

Poor Chris has had the images of his car whored out around the world so much now that I'm sure all of these dudes think its public domain or just imaginary car that was photoshopped into some sort of global file image. His Charger is a sex slave.

JB400: I watch "Bluebloods" regularly and think it is a good show but Danny called it a 1968 Charger and it was obviously a 1969. They should have looked a little harder and found a 1968 Charger for the scene! Kinda disappointed me!

The photo was taken by Jim Pickerell, a photographer apparently commissioned by the EPA in the early '70s to document various aspects of America and the effect pollution was having - both on the environment and on overall quality of life. I spent some time looking at the National Archives when searching for that parking lot photo, and Mr. Pickerell did take a TON of photos of all sorts of things... ranging from pollution cleanups in California, to mining-company-owned shacks in "coal country", to east-coast stuff like this photo in DC.
Here is the title/caption given for the sardine-can parking lot photo (I didn't do the all caps):
QuoteCARS WERE JAMMED EVEN MORE THAN USUAL INTO EVERY SPARE SPACE AT A DOWNTOWN COMMERCIAL PARKING LOT DURING A BUS STRIKE IN WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, IN MAY, 1974. SOME 250,000 PEOPLE WERE FORCED TO FIND ALTERNATE FORMS OF TRANSPORTATION, USUALLY THE AUTOMOBILE. MONUMENTAL TRAFFIC JAMS RESULTED AS DRIVERS LEARNED THERE WERE MORE CARS THAN LEGAL PLACES TO PARK. AS A RESULT THEY USED BUS LANES, TRAFFIC "ISLANDS", "NO PARKING" ZONES, SIDEWALKS AND LAWNS

was watchin Dexter the other night, and one of the criminals had a nice black 68 charger. It was in multiple scenes. I forgot the season and the episode :(
Sorry about that. I need to see if I can find a different one to replace it then. The hazards of a 22 page thread.

That looks like a 67 or 68 RS Camaro. The nose isn't wide enough to be a Charger compared to the big Pontiac to the left. Also, looks like a RS emblem in the middle of the grill. Now that I've compared pictures, it does look like a '69 Charger grille. Nevermind.

Supernatural, season 1 episode 20 "Dead Man's Blood"
1968 Charger. Background shot for only a few seconds. The guy must like cars with dual round tail lights lol. The Charger must not be running because later in this episode you'll see the Corvette and Chevelle being used.
I was watching an episode of Mannix the other night, and there were two 69 Chargers shown in the first 15 minutes. The first was a red 69 Charger, that a guy drives up to the entrance of a business, and speaks with the Security Guard, then drives away, the car gets some decent screen time, and a good rear end shot of it driving away. The second Charger is a bronze 69 R/T SE with a white top and tail stripe. Mannix is driving his Dart convertible following a van out of an airport parking lot, when the bronze Charger blocks him from persueing the van. The episode was season 2 episode 22. I not good at posting pictures on this site, perhaps someone else car post them if they have time. The Mannix series always had a lot of cool cars on it,mostly Mopars. It is not very often that Chargers are seen though. He had a customized Olds Toronado convertible the first season, then he drove 68 and 69 Dart convertibles that were customized by George Barris, both of which still survived the filming and have been restored. Then he drove the 70 and 71 Cuda convertibles, and the Cuda convertible was updated to 72 grille and tailpanel for the beginning of the 72 season. He then drove a 72 Rallye Challenger with a sunroof, before switching to a Camaro for the 74 season. There are always lots of other Mopars on the show as well, like Dodge and Plymouth cop cars, and bad guys driving Chrysler Imperials too. Product placement was a big deal back then and Chrysler took full advantage of it.

I just happened to have these.
Barris did the Toronado and only succeeded in making a good looking car look awful. If he had just chopped the top and left it at that, it would have been fine.

1970 Charger @0:10 mark for 2 seconds and that's the only appearance through the whole video. Since I watched it all the way to see if it were to appear again, the video is actually good. Emotional to say the least covering 911, Boston bomber, Vegas shooting, California fires etc. Oh and KWS (Kenny Wayne Shepherd) is involved. I know he's a Mopar guy.

I bought the complete season of the tv show Movin' On two years ago. I finally started watching it. Season 1, episode 2, has a young Mackenzie Phillips playing a 14 year old and her dad was played by Richard Jaeckel (in case you recognized the other faces). Was just a background car like the red Corvette next to the Charger.
Dark haired guy is Claude Akins.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0015391/?ref_=tt_cl_t1
Notice NO vinyl top ??
Why would you least expect them in A 70's movie ? :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin:
The other guy is Frank Converse, most notable series Movin' On an NYPD 67-69
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0176586/?ref_=tt_cl_t3
Yes, I know who Frank Converse and Claude Akins are. I grew up with this tv show. Still one of my all time favorites. I actually know Claude Akins from other tv shows before Movin' On. I can also tell you, 2 out of the 3 green Kenworth"s (W900's) are still around, one here in Wisconsin, the other Wyoming I think. The one here in Wi. has been a show truck doing trucks shows forever. The other one was used as a work truck, but is not going through it's second restoration.
Another Charger, this time a '73.
Is that young Girl same as American Craffiti?

Interesting that car show which is clearly 1966 from the 66 Coronet and Monaco, would have Cragers on the 66 Charger. :shruggy:

Thanks! I did go through that episode and waited too long to post it in here as you beat me to it.
It ended up being season 1 episode 2 about 28 mins. in. Now I'm hooked onto the story and will watch the rest of the episodes.
This segment with the 1969 Charger has me curious. Was that actual footage? Did he film the girl he was planning on attacking but then backed out? If not, that's some great editing to make it appear circa correct.

I don't know how you come up with or find these out takes , but awesome vintage pictures !!!! My 3x9 R/T SE is a long time Cali car , had a Camp Pendleton Air Force base sticker on the windshield . NTM , while restoring this car , found evidence of some crazy mods done in it's early years , I suspect it had side pipes , something mounted on the back deck panel , etc . I searched to try and maybe find pics of it , but never turned up anything .
I can't believe how close together they parked back then. :o

use to do it when i was a kid watching films to , would record it on a video recorder , then pause when i thought i saw chargers in the back ground, think the first films i done like that was the original gone in 60 seconds & two lane black top , also seeing how many chargers used in DMCL :yesnod: that was prolly late 70s early 80s
i remember we spoke about your charger some time ago, & been looking out for any thing black custom job 69 R/T SE since,
some unusual stuff been done if i remember correctly. would of thought sure it might have been photographed back in the day etc , cant remember if i mentioned up canada there was a triple black 69 R/T SE with shaved / removed door handles , thought at the time what the chances of two black R/T SE chargers both with shaved door handles , it was after you got yours , not sure how old the advert was think there was a picture of the engine on a crane being put in or taken out, dont quote me on that bit though could easily be getting mixed up with something else.

They air "Sticker Shock" on Pluto TV which is a free TV app that runs off of your WiFi on a smart device/TV (Fire TV, Roku, Andriod...). It's a dedicated channel called "Cars" in which they show car related TV shows. "Vegas Rat Rods" is one of their main streams.

It's not a MK2. Looks more like a MK3 to me although the picture is a bit grainy so it could be another similarly shaped car but definitely looks like a MK3 Cortina.

I was watching the Italian channel at my dads place and I saw this commercial for a grocery store called Lady York Food Market located at 2939 Dufferin St, North York, Toronto, Ontario Canada. I caught this 69 Charger in it.

:o :2thumbs: good spot ! thanks for sharing :2thumbs:
Whilst I didn't take any pictures, I was watching the 1971 film, The French Connection the other night and the sheer number of 68-70 Chargers (along with every other car of the time period) had me hanging off my seat with the remote, trying to stop and look at every one of them.
Actually, wasn't a bad movie either.

yes there are a few in there from memory, remember as a kid saw the chargers , then next time it came on tv i video taped it , then attempted to freeze frame it on the chargers anyone who remembers the ole vhs video recorders of the 80s knows how tricky that can be
, think from memery 3 second generations maybe four, remember a bronze 69 , one a white 68 with gray primer on the driver door or quarter , might of been a red & or a blue one in there too . could of been more long long time ago since i saw it.
think a member here posted some digital screen captures or i did or we spoke about them & i was or he was going to take screen shots :-\ :scratchchin: i forget, long time ago could of been even been the old site :scratchchin: :-\

No, SOME people are just really sharp-eyed at spotting them where most people would miss is!

It is fun to try to spot the Charger in these pictures....sort of like a "Where's Waldo" for car guys.
What is also funny is the last picture where the Charger was obvious, yet Tan Top still zoomed in on it!
Thanks, TT !
