Title: Superbird project - Where does this part go?
Post by: RSI700VIPER on May 13, 2020, 08:33:44 AM
Found this part loose in the trunk.  It appears to be a body seal similar to the heavy rubber seals covering the control arm bolts and around the inner nose.   Not even sure if it belongs to the car or not but would appreciate some input.

Yes it is. That seal attaches, on one end, to the lower galvanized closure panel, by way of two black push-in type plastic fasteners. (See the two holes, near the center, a couple inches in from the lip on the bottom of an original part in my attachment.) The slit area in the seal is where the "K-member to lower radiator core support bracket" passes through. I can't recall how the forward end of the seal is fastened.

(Presently I'm trying to compress a picture to attach to this message...)
