Title: What is the coating on the drip rails?
Post by: randy73 on July 21, 2017, 09:34:05 AM
Just finished removing the paint and coating from the passenger side and would like to replace the coating or would it be better to just repaint and leave off the coating?

Getting ready to do it myself.  A quick search came up with this. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,352.0.html

I called the 3m tech this morning for info.  He recommended the 08307 for best but it's a two Pat mix needing the applicator gun.  The other was a 08367.  He said the 08531 would shrink some

I bought the 08367.  Comes in a caulking tube so its enough to do both sides with some left over.  This stuff is moisture curing and sets up pretty quick. Doesn't self level but wet your finger with wax/grease remover will let you smooth it out but don't wait long.  Tape up both sides or you'll have a mess. I was told the 08531 was not self leveling either but it was said on the link it did for them  :shruggy:
