Title: What is it and where can I get some??
Post by: ChgrSteve67 on August 29, 2005, 04:03:42 PM
I'm currently rebuilding my motor (1967 Charger) and during the disassembly phase
I had to remove several pieces of what looks to be thick cardboard from the fenderwells.

These pieces cover access holes in the fenders so you can get to various parts of the motor & clutch assembly.
They are held on by clips.
They seem to be saturated with some kind of oil based treatment making them water proof.
I wish I had taken a picture of one of the pieces but I didn't.

Does anyone know off of the top of thier head what is this material is
and can I purchase this stuff so I can make new access covers?

Thanks!

If it is the same as '69 I would say heavy roofing felt(60lb or heavier maybe) would be a close match. I found some nice ones on a '69 Coronet that worked for my Charger...I just used some bumper black spray paint to freshen them up.
