This is the car the artwork was based on... no, I am not guessing...
Then why did they change the color??
Quote from: WINGIN IT on January 04, 2013, 08:06:00 PM
Then why did they change the color??
The color choice is completely separate from the artwork, and can be easily changed at any point. I was a consultant on the two Mopar stamp designs for over four years, and the Daytona picture that I posted was provided by the company contracted by the USPS. The color of the Hemi `Cuda was also changed, AND the the picture reversed as shown below. Also shown below is an example of the dozens of inputs/answers that I provided... not all were acted on though. Doug S of DSAC was involved as well someone at WW...

That is, unfortunately, becoming the norm. My late father retired from the Post Office back in '97. I grew up with it. It is TRUELY sad to see what this governmental agency has become. Our local post office ( at least my carrier ) is worthless.........

My wife Linda delivers mail on Saturdays for a small rural post office here in Indiana. She had her postmaster on the lookout for these stamps. When she went to work last Saturday the clerk told Linda that the Muscle car stamps had come in. Linda asked how many did they receive? Their allotment was a big 5 sheets of 20! WOW! Needless to say Linda bought them all for me! :2thumbs:
So check around as they are limited and going fast!

I guess they'are something cool to collect but cant imagine them being worth something someday. As long as people keep buying them the post office will keep making them. Im sure their goal to sell as many as they can and hope they dont get used.
I guess I'm lucky; I just picked up 20 sheets in one visit.
I did pick up a couple sheets today, the lady pulled them out of like an inch thick stack. I guess I coulda got 100 but I didn't have a 1000 to blow lol maybe in 20 years you could double your money.

They usually do, but since they're a Federal Agency, Congress takes it all and then claims the Post Office looses money........
USPS is NOT a government agency

USPS is NOT a government agency
Then it has been changed.... It was just as Amtrak used to be and I know that's 100% accurate. Now, if it has been changed, then that's news to me and I stand corrected..
But, as far as I know, "The United States Postal Service (USPS), also known as the Post Office and U.S. Mail, is an independent agency of the United States government responsible for providing postal service in the United States."
:shruggy: :shruggy:

That's the point. They are agencies subsidies by the government to perform a specific task...... Usually, if they were run like a private company, they'd make a profit, but Congress always takes the profits for their "pet-projects"....

Don't get me wrong, I believe the standards of performance and accountability has REALLY taken a hit. From the counter help, to attitudes and CONSTANT mail being put in wrong mail boxes in our subdivision....
