I got to thinking and I don't even know if there's an answer for this question. It's a known fact that there were 1,920/1,935 Superbirds built for the public - street cars if you will. There are websites devoted to how many of each color, engine, trans, options, etc. all of which are very helpful. Here's the question: How many 'birds were built specifically for racing? Is there even a way to know? I'm not sure I even know why I want to know. Just curious I suppose.
I know that NONE were produced that live in my garage. I'm STILL trying to get one. It'll happen...
Racers updated there 68 to 70 car and had use of body's in white shells from.the factory and added wingcar parts hard to estimate
