http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,47114.0.html
can someone split this thread back to the Duluth meet and post new about the Richmond meet? it would help a TON in the future for searches and it's a pain to dig through the old meet to find the info on the new one.
good idea Pettybird, we need some new space. Looking for upcoming agenda as soon as it's available so as to plan & book reservations for that event.
Wow, one of my best friends moved to a small town just outside of Lynchburg, literally minutes away. That's not so far of a ride compared to where the meets have been before, so I might do this trip. I'll have to badger my Chebbie friend to let me stay at his place & drag him to the meet. :D

To all,
While the deadline for the "block" of rooms at the Wingate in Lynchburg has passed, they have agreed to honor the room rate as long as space is available. That being said, there is a state agency now looking at a meeting in Lynchburg the same week. For those who may book a room at another motel, if you will post me or call before the meet, I will get you information. If you visit the Winged Warriors" website, (www.wwnboa.org), there are suggested routes for those incoming, as if you are trailering, the GPS might try to take you down a less than desirable path.
"IF YOU 'RE UNDER CONTROL, YOU AIN'T GOING FAST ENOUGH."
RT Daddy, got my reservations @ Wingate, went on map quest for directions, think i'm ok, but would like a P.O.C. phone # if i get lost. Coming in from NJ............ Thasnks, Ron Penska

barry we are coming across country on I-64 ,what is the best way to come into virginia ?
Stuart,
Are you pulling a trailer? If you check the Winged Warriors website, (www.wwnboa.org), I broke down the best ways to come from nearly all point of the compass. If you're trailering, come I-64 east to Charlottesville, Va. then U.S. 29 south to Lynchburg, following U.S. 29 all the way, (do not take any "Busines 29" exits). When you reach Amherst, Va., (about 45 min south of Charlottesville), you have a choice of "Business 29" to Amherst. DO NOT TAKE THE BUSINESS EXIT AT AMHERST. Keep with U.S. 29 south. IN about 20 minutes, you will cross the James River on the Monacan bridge. You will then take a tight exit U.S. 29 south towards Lynchburg/Danville. You are within 15 minutes of the Wingate. To get to the Wingate, follow 29 south, you will pass to a U.S. 501 exit, (Campbell Avenue), then you come to U.S. 501 Rt. 128 exit, (Candlers Mountain Rd), take this exit, make a left at the 1st light onto Rt. 670. Go through the 1st light you come too, the road will make a sharp left and go downhill to a 2nd light. Go straight through the 2nd light, the Wingate is up the hill on the right.

we made it home about an hour ago with zero issues. I'm very happy about that. Mom drove down by herself on Wednesday morning in the B5 bird and I flew down Thursday night. We went home to Cleveland via the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. We stopped off at Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, a pair of Frank Lloyd Wright houses east of Pittsburgh. It was a very cool trip.
I also got to hang out with Mike Atkins' daughter Melanie, which I was extremely happy about.
when Stu said 'they just kinda let us loose' it was me and Mike Svec racing that brought the laps to an end :smilielol:
Stu check out your fuel pump pushrod--they go bad occasionally and that would explain two mishaps with pumps pretty well. pull the pump again, pull the pipe plug and check out the end that rides on the cam. I'm thinking it wiped out.
or mount the electric one and have a nice day. the one you bought is regulated down to around 6-7psi anyway.

'Bird,
Sorry to bust your bubble, but we had had 45 minutes plus on the track, several folks had pulled off, and a couple of folks looked like their confidence was about to overcome their talent. For those attending, this post speaks for itself. The fact that you post up apparently taking credit for ending a meet activity that took months of planning speaks volumes. It is my hope that I am able to be a participant should you ever host and plan a national meet. Hopefully by then you will have realized the amount of faith and trust involved for us to be granted the access to the various facilities that we had and how easily that can be lost. I now burn my soapbox.
"IF YOU'RE UNDER CONTROL, YOU AIN'T GOING FAST ENOUGH."
I would like to take this time to thank all who attended the Winged Warriors 2009 National meet.
I know this took a lot of time and effort on the part of each of you, as well as cost in this economy, and I appreciate your joining us. I hope that all had a good time, and that the schedule was not too hectic. To those intrepid adventurers who braved the elements, I am sorry we lost our battle with the rain gods on Wednesday, but I still hope it was worth it. For those who attended, please PM me an address and e-mail,as it seems the list I was assembling must have made the trip home with someone.
Again, it was a pleasure meeting you all.
"IF YOU'RE UNDER CONTROL, YOU AIN'T GOING FAST ENOUGH."

I'm not going to be a total tool and tell you my cars never break, but you could GUARANTEE them screwing up when I was younger. Mom and dad won the hard luck award in like 78 for all the shenanigans the car pulled, and the damn trophy broke on the way home. Mom still has the pieces in a drawer in the basement
watch it doug you get cocky and wow they will act up on you :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:
as long as I have my tackle box I'll be just fine. :nana:
Mike Svec's bailed me out more often than not recently--he and Gary had a steering wheel puller in Lebanon, IN to get at the fried ignition switch and he had a caliper pin to replace the one that ejected itself somewhere on the way to Tennessee in like 01? Both parts have made the tackle box, though.
I ought to inventory the thing and see what I do carry...

Thank god these old cars have a huge trunk!!!!

that sounds like me when we went to Talladega '99 with under 100 miles on the rebuilt drivetrain--I robbed the Petty car blind for spares. I was TOTALLY paranoid.
I also took a full-size floor jack and a pair of jack stands, which is good because Sean Michado needed them to replace one of his rod bearings in the Alabama Motorsports Hall of Fame parking lot!
I'll probably pack the crap out of Marty this fall, too--I just dropped two grand on 5.7 Hemi swap parts for him today, and that's not the end... :o

that car was freshly restored and only had like 75 miles on it since completely being restored when he got to virginia . I was a very nice clean pretty car . His goal was to bring it to talledega .
