Charger itself sold more than ALL 1966 to 1971 body styles combined, back when the 426 was available.

Hellcats have created a series of new halo cars for the brand, formerly occupied by Viper.

Only problem from these wrecked hellcats is these Salvage Yards. They want serious cash for these engines 30-50K and more. They are making a killing.

For good reason. The Viper could have been a better car with a Hellcat engine option. The V 10 always sounded terrible, like an airplane engine or 3 Briggs and Stratton lawnmowers tied together.
Yeah, the Viper V10 motor has gone down as sort of an interesting abandoned arm of the family tree.
The V10s happened (Both Mopar and Ford) because Detroit was struggling to get clean enough emissions from large-bore cylinders.
The Dodge Viper basically needed a B/RB V8. So they gave it an LA small block with two extra cylinders instead.
A few years later they barely got the G3 Hemi clean enough, using twin plugs and quench pads in the combustion chambers. That and small displacement. They would probably never have gotten a bored-out 400+ inch version of that motor through emissions. That's why they eventually supercharged it when they wanted Viper-size horsepower out of it.

The exhaust tone has been likened to a UPS truck.
I hadn't heard the truck analogy before but now that you say it, yes it does.
