I like that the owner kept the body damage from the film. It makes it way more interesting and identifiable.

I can walk past overly restored Generals all day long. This is way cooler. I could do without the sharpie on the trunklid, though.

does anyone know how to see the actual sale prices for mecum auctions?   curious to see what this car actually went for to get an idea of market value these days on 'movie cars'.   thanks!!

Looks like $88k less fees etc. Pretty strong money but one of the most desirable of the movie cars, I know I wouldn't mind it sitting in the garage.

I am the new owner of the #20 General Lee. I have owned five originals from the movie and two from the auto trader commercial. In 2007, I was debating on buying this car. It was on eBay. I was working out a deal at the time with Warner Bros. on several cars. They went on strike so I didn't know what the end result was going to be. I was getting ready to purchase this car but because I did not know how many cars Warner Bros. was going to let me have, I got cold feet. I didn't want to have too many. After a few years, I was under the radar trying to find the car because it was the only four-speed and it did the greatest stunts. It's the most memorable General Lee as it did the drifting around the circle and was driven by Tanner Faust who I was hanging out with just last week at Sema.

Thanks Leon for some reason I have a problem posting pictures. I will have to work on that. Yes this car was on Woodward a few times already and will be out there this Summer. It's a matching #s 383 4spd car. I am going to freshen up the motor and leave it alone. I will be smoking the tires like it's supposed to be driven 👍

Tanner Foust was not the driver that wheeled the car in the traffic circle. That was Rhys Millen.

I'll wait to see how that plays out.
Tanner Foust is  a great driver. I'm not taking anything away from his skill. Its just that it was another race car driver that did the stunts in that movie.
My Mom married a guy that loved to drop names of all the famous people that he knew.....These people were never around to confirm or deny their "friendship". If he really knew them, he would have actually had their phone numbers and had spent time with them. He did neither.

Just to give you a little background on me. I have owned seven cars from the Dukes of Hazzard. 5 from the movie, and 2 from the auto trader commercial. I am a collector of movie cars and I have owned at least 25 screen used movie cars. I am always around the cast. I could post 100 pictures of myself with famous people. I am not a name dropper, I am a player 😉. Rhys Millen did drive my car along with Tanner Foust. My car was used extensively in the movie and at the end racing against the Mustang. Tanner remembered the car as it was the drift car and the only 4spd Charger. He said that was the baddest car from the fleet.

Tanner is listed as a stunt guy on IMDB website for the movie (8th one down). I have the dvd and Rhys does an interview about the stunts, mainly the one he did around the statue, but he doesn't mention tanner or any other driver. So maybe he did or didn't drive this car. But he was a stunt driver for the movie. I'm not sure I helped either of you. Lol

Thank you. I was not aware that he was involved. I do know that he was not the driver of the specific "circle drift" stunt as the other guy wrongly claimed. He may have driven the car in other stunts. For that, I am not certain.
Leon....
Piss off with your comments. If I see a liar or an error somewhere, I call him/it out instead of being a timid and polite wimp. If I am wrong, I admit it and move on.
Matter  is spelled with two Ts, by the way.
Finally, I appreciate the significance of these cars. If not for the show, I may not have developed the love for these cars because they were not very common where I grew up. I loved the show. I enjoyed the movie but wasn't as entertained with the changes they made to the overall theme. Pot smoking, Rosco and Boss Hogg not being funny, Bo and Luke still running moonshine, etc.
I did like that they maintained a level  of continuity with the damage on the car. None of the crushed fender one scene and fresh paint in the next.

Wow...You REALLY must like the guy. If I were him, I'd wonder why you have collected so many pictures of him. That seems odd to me.
It looks like he does know some famous people. He did "name drop" but the pictures do show that he does run into some familiar faces. He is not making that up.
I'm glad that I was wrong about that.

I didn't think about that.
For now, I'll just let it go and not pester the guy anymore. My sticking point was the confusion about Tanner and Ryhs.

I think if you look at my history you'll find out that I am not a rookie in the car business. I could post pictures all day long of cars, famous people and hot chicks but you are just an instigator like I hear.  7 original screen used General Lees. You can't teach me about the DOH. Do you even own a car?

Well, I am not one that feels the need to brag about who I know or what I own.
Yeah, I have a car.....or two, maybe 11. Not sure.  I am happy with my life as I hope that you are with yours.
If I see something that I think is suspect, I call it out. Do YOU believe everything that you read or are told? If by that you define "Instigator" then you are confused.
Make up your own mind as to who you trust or not.
You may be a great guy or a worthless liar. I am guessing that you are a decent guy that just spoke in error.

I am an enthusiast that likes to share history with people who appreciate it. I collect these movie cars because I am passionate about them and enjoyed the shows when I was a kid. The Munsters TV show was what got me into the hobby. I am very lucky to be able to enjoy them.

That is great and I meant no harm.
There are some people that love to bash the show. I am certainly not one of them. I loved the show from the first episode. I like reading about the various cars they used for the series and the movie. Mopar Action and Mopar Muscle had articles a short time ago about the stunt cars used. I would have LOVED to work as a car builder or stunt man back then. I'm more impressed with the ratty looking stunt cars than I am with the pristine First Unit cars though, just my preference.

Patching junk cars back together for additional filming sounds like fun.
Some guys love a shiny car to wash and cruise, some like ratty cars to modify and fix. I'm somewhere in the middle.
Not to brag....I have one "finished" car and another that I am just starting....

No worries, yes it's very interesting to see how these cars were built in all different kinds of ways for different kinds of reasons. I was able to experience that first hand because every car that I've owned was a little bit different and it's own way. Some had heavy duty row cages, some had lesser role cages, skid plates, all kinds of tricks the studios do. You could tell at least three were jumped. This is also evident in cars I bought from Universal from Fast and Furious. I had one Charger from the beginning of Furious 5 that got hit by a bus. I didn't even mess with I just sold it. Way to much work involved.

I thought I read somewhere, maybe it was John Schneider speaking, that the exhaust sound track was dubbed from some other car. To me, they all sounded like a regular dual exhaust car with glass pack/Cherry bomb mufflers.
The early stuff I read about adding weight to the trunk to make for a flatter landing in the jumps....that was interesting. I have watched YouTube videos with Corey Eubanks about his time on the show. Al Wyatt jr, the guy that did stunts in shorts and flip/flops....What great times that must have been.

Post by: WB General Lee on November 17, 2019, 10:48:17 PM
That's all true. All Wyatt is super cool. He is hard core. Just like you said he would walk up to a car jump in with slippers and fly though the air. I go to a lot of the Dukes of Hazzard events but I have never actually met him. It's a bummer, some of the of these guys are getting older and they're not doing a whole lot. They're having a big event at Bo's extravaganza next year that we're thinking about bringing several screen used cars.

He was a pretty brave guy. He did some of the highest jumps from the show. There was a story where a stunt driver failed and Al thought it was to dangerous for that stunt driver so he jumped in the car and make it a successful one. I am pretty sure Tom Sarmento told me that story. Now I am wondering exactly which jump it was. I will try to find out. It was one you would remember.

One of the most memorable jumps for me was when Daisy was brainwashed into thinking that she was the long lost granddaughter of some rich guy. Bo and Luke had to get in front of her car as she sped down a hill in a car that lost it's brakes. The view of the jump was mostly from the rear and it was amazing.
