Do all dashes have this hole for 68-70?  I never looked for this before but I'm curious if the hole was only drilled if the car was optioned for a defogger or not.  I"m thinking it was but.... You neve rknow.

On a 68 Charger just to the right of the speedometer there is a small plate that can be removed and the defrost switch goes there if you have that option

Agreed!!! 1968 B Body with rallye dash only. 1969-70 had defog switch at bottom of dash frame.

In 1968 if your car didn't come with rear defogger it had a blank ribbed plate to match the gauge cluster.
If your 1968 came with rear defogger then a switch was put in place with a plate that had lettering for the functions (High,Low,Off)
And......if your 68 B Body was a convertible they put a switch in the same place for the top up/down functions (you wouldn't have rear defog if you have a conv.) which doesn't apply to Chargers.

EDIT: I added 4 pics to help describe better.
Pic 1. Location of the switch
Pic 2. Blank plate (no rear defog or non conv.)
Pic 3. Rear defog plate
Pic 4. Conv. top plate

actually, at a side of the A/C-Heater control unit... as far I recall. And the same switch worked for both functions, just using it in one direction for deffog and mounted reversed if convertible car

The switch is NOT the same, just the knob can be turned around. Also 68-9 b-bodys have the top switch on the lower switch panel. WINGNUT

Explain, because my pic above shows the top switch being in the gauge cluster. 1969-70 yes on lower panel, 1968 no.

This is simple.  What 68 B-bodies came with rallye gauges? Chargers and Super Bees. All other B-bodies came with the long speedo. Even the Coronet R/T and GTX.  How many 68 Charger and Super Bee CONVERTIBLES were produced? WINGNUT

Hey mate, do you have any pictures of the re defog switch on the 68 compared to the 69/70.
I thought that if your charger had the rear defog switch it was in the same place in all 3 years.
would like to see a photo of a 68 dash and a 69/70 to see the different positions
thanks

Oh Crap!! I thought at least 68 GTX got rallye dash and Satellite Sport. I was on the fence about 68 Coronet R/T.
