Title: The "Patriot" Superbird
Post by: wingcar on August 12, 2010, 12:23:05 PM
Question for forum Members:

Back in the early or mid 1970's there was a Superbird sitting at a used car lot on Whittler Blvd. in California.  This Superbird was painted in a Red/White/Blue paint scheme and carried the name "The Patriot", and if I remember correctly it had either Cragar SS or Keystone Mags.  The details are foggy, but it may have been an original white bird with black interior, equipped with a 440 (with tunnel Ram manifold) and auto transmission.
Does anyone remember this car and by chance have any pictures of it.  And, of course the big question being, what ever became of it......

Sounds like the Romeo Super go as the paint scheme goes?

No, it's not the Romeo Bird, and the "Hot" Superbird's paint (or what's left of it) doesn't seem the same..........It would have been more in line with the old shot car paint scheme, but it did have a tunnel Ram scoop and was setup for the strip...I remember stopping more than once when you use to cruise the Blvd.  Most of the times I saw the Bird it was at night, so I never got a picture.
