Interior / Re: Retrosound Redondo radio
Last post by Dino - Yesterday at 09:34:58 PM
Ha yeah they're definitely not a must. I bench tested the radio today, hooked up to a 5 channel amp and it sounds really good. I like the functions of it. Yeah the plastic thumbwheels are cheap but they look alright and work well.
I haven't figured out the volume control yet. I don't seem to be able to adjust it by holding it up or down and need to keep nudging it. Is that how yours is?
I should have everything installed tomorrow and will report back with the outcome.

It sure doesn't require having OCD to tell the difference between a man and a woman.
SOME people think they are fooling others with it but they aren't.

Off Topic Discussion / Re: Ever notice...

I'm from NYC & lived there & the surrounding area where miles means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Perfect example is when my wife had her apartment in Saddlebrook, NJ & worked 6 miles away in River Edge, NJ. Both towns were very close to NYC. That 6 mile drive took 40 minutes. When we bought our house upstate in Newburgh, NY the house was 36 miles from my office in Mahwah, NJ. That drive took me 35 minutes.

yeah poor  panel alignment  back in the day ,  :icon_smile_blackeye:

my charger had never been in a front end wreck & had  all its original assembly line  fitted  panels, & the gaps alignment was crap , when i first got my charger in 89 , i was still a mechanic at the time , knew the gaps were not same  but not bad imo no biggie so i thought at the time !, was not till i changed  jobs & become a paint &  body guy , how wrong i was anything less than perfect or as good as you can get it  . it drives ya nutts when you see panels out of alignment after being in body & paint for 20+ years (not now) & painting about 28 cars a week out of two spray booths every other week one  or 2 weeks paint other week in the panel body / metal shop getting covered in metal grinding  dust mig splatters & filler dust  :D  , talk about OCD i no longer look at  what the car is at a show or driving down the street... my eyes are drawn to panel fit / alignment,  can i see any body filler & any panels off color  ie  angle lighter or darker if been painted off the car or patchy for metallic paint etc etc . turns ya crazy  forget what car i'm looking at its the  quality of the  paint & body i see first.  i'm nuts i know , especially if its supposedly had a 100 grand resto  & up forsale for some stupid price   :P  :shruggy:   :icon_smile_wink:  :image_294343:  :yesnod:

Aero Cars / Broadcast Sheet Code Exception
Last post by taxspeaker - Yesterday at 02:54:49 PM
I had always thought that Birds with Code N95 (Evap Emission) did not have Chrome exhaust tips (N42) but I am looking at such a broadcast sheet. I might be confused with California cars which I thought were the only ones with evap emission. Dave Patek (RIP) always said CA cars could not have chrome tips by law, so is this a weird one with evap emissions from another state, or an exception to the California rule? I do not have original owner info.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Bob
