Title: How to install Vinyl roof on 73 Charger SE
Post by: chargers_r_us on July 25, 2005, 04:30:12 PM
I plan to install the vinyl roof I got from Legendary onto my 73 SE at home. I have no garage, and no experience doing this kind of work. I did do my interior completely by myself, carpet, headliner, and all re-covering of the seats with Legendary upholstery, and it looks great! I had no experience with upoholstery either! Any suggestions to make this vinyl roof project a successful project?

I would pick up the book "Project Charger" by Larry Lyles (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/193199322X/qid=1122356590/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-0296972-8966529?v=glance&s=books&n=507846). It's all there, and with the help from the board members that task would be a piece of cake.   :yesnod:

Thanks! I do have the project Charger book, and it is a good source for help! Thanks Nacho for the moparmusclemagazine site with all that info on the installation! I printed that one out! I think it will be e big help! What about the clips that hold down the trim pieces that got all broken when they were removed? Anywhere reasonable to get them? Anybody done one of these at home and have it turn out real nice? Thanks for the responses!

the clips are fairly easy to break,i ve been there! i saw them in the yaer one book for like 2 bucks each,so i took one with me to the local auto fastner shop(most body shops can refer you to one local)and matched it up,found some that worked great, looked a little different, but were only 5 bucks a box,for 50 of em!!
