for someone like me whocurrently knows little about these cars, it give a great insight into the problems and pitfalls i might discover over the next few years, all conveiniently located in one thread!

Thanks alot for that!

Hopefully soon you can add my resto to the list!

I also highly recommend 69Hemi's website (among others listed) as it is highly informative and educational.

Or maybe some people realize that they don't have the expertise to get it done the way these beautiful cars deserve to be done.  Or maybe they do, and they just don't have the time due to family or work obligations.  Or maybe they would, but they're physically unable due to disability, age, etc.

Some people don't do their own work.  Does that mean that their cars are somehow lesser beings?  Are these people the second-class citizens of the resto world?  How does this fact in any way diminish their enthusiasm for the hobby and for preserving the history of these cars.

You may think those who don't do the work are snobs, but if you want to see a snob try taking a look in the mirror.

Dont forget my 68. Possibly the longest on-going restoration on here. I hope not, but it could be. I am almost to ashamed to admit it, but I started taking this car apart in 1990 to freshen the engine up, and she is still apart to this day. Shes starting to come along, but its been a long hard road to this point.

The yellow charger was my original car. It, like the white one was a 4 speed big block car. The yellow was going to be my driver and then I caught the fever. I picked up the white one in April of 2001 from Fresno California and so begun the journey to what you see now. The yellow one was badly rusted/repaired. The white one came wearing original paint with an added GTX stripe??

Well l'm new here But l just bought a 69 charger supposedly all matching #s after l figure out how to post pictures l'll post pictures of ven# and fender tag. l also found the build sheet under the sheet where it is suppose to be.  l just don't know how to get it out of there without tearing it. l don't plan on reupholstering it at this time so undoing the hog hoops is out of the question. Any ideas for me guys.

Photographing it in place beforehand might be a good idea ?
Get some help, and then all we did was lift the hog hoops with one hand each, while pressing the fabric backing down, and gently move the B-Sheet out.

Welcome and Congrats on the Charger :2thumbs:
