Neat... so he gave up trying to sell the Bird for $895 and is now trying the Daytona for $777. Would have thought they'd be priced the other way around! :smilielol:
I'm afraid he'll have that forever in this declining economy at that price. He might as well get it out and enjoy it :yesnod:
The last two recently sold for a million .....or very close to it.
I believe David Spade bought the 6K mile Hemi 4spd car for $900K and that thing was impeccable, this is no where near the caliber of that car (not putting this one down, just stating facts). What was the other one that brought that kind of money?
WTK How many real Hemi Daytonas are still around? (Wingman) Jay.
Probably about 6 more than Chrysler originally built :icon_smile_big:

Last show I was at we were discussing this. We came up with 27 that we could think of at that time.

Were there 70 of them built? This is the most common number I've heard thrown around as to the actual number built. How how many were actually built?
39 Hemi Daytona's were built. 37 cars have been spotted and recorded. I don't know where the 70 built number comes from. All 39 HEMI Daytona vins are known.

Two out of 39 that are missing, are they KING and QUEEN?
Is it my bad eyes or is the stripe peeling and rust showing at the bottom of the left quarter panel at the back?
It appears to me to be a reflection from the dirt on the ground, based on the two white spots and the dark cusp shape being very similar.

King and Queen are in the spotted and recorded. Queen might actually still be out there. Willie said he gave the wrecked car away after he stripped it.

??? Declining economy ??? What country do you live in?
Here in the US, unemployment is 5%, which is considered total employment. (all that want a job have at least one)
Heck, even Michigan it's at 5%.
Check out new car sales numbers. We are knocking on an all time record... :Twocents:
If he can't sell it, must be something other than the economy. Just sayin'...

The erroneous "70" number for Hemi Daytonas came from the late 1970's as an extrapolation of known cars at the time.
It was stated in a magazine article and folks ran with it.

Why not? The "70" number was a good thing, thought... Kept the prices down on them! :o
Going by actual vins from shiplist it is like 36 37. The 70 number claim was 48 at and 22 4 spd. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,9246.0.html

Correct. But, if you sort out the typos there were 39 Hemi Daytona's built. On those Hemi typos, I can match up the VON's with Hemi vins. I think you can two with what I think you have. I have never came across a Hemi Daytona broadcast sheet or a car that was not on the list. Pretty good odds with only 2 cars left to go.

Dan P and I crunched the numbers from the orders and the ship list. Found all the typos and corrected them. 40 Hemi Daytona's were built. From what we have we are only missing fender tag info on 4 cars. The count on the 36 Hemi Daytona's that Dan and I know of are 15 4 speeds and 21 automatics. Have color combos for 35 of the cars. 9-V2, 7-R4, 4-F6, 3 Y-2, 3 W-1, 3 T-5, 3 X-9, 1 R-6 1 B-5, 1 F-8. Trying to confirm the color on one of the 5 that is known. Have not seen a tag shot but think it's T5. So it could be 4 T-5 cars. Only 4 left to find and figure out.
