I have the numbers matching 1969 Daytona 440 motor XX29L9B386559 with a 4 speed for the only WHITE on WHITE with a black wing built. It is also known as "THE BONNIVILLE DAYTONA"...I heard that the car recently was restored in Michigan or/and is in New York...I would love to get in contact with the new owner to give him the ability to now be a FULLY NUMBERS MATCHING DAYTONA once again. n96HEMICUDA@gmail.com

I had some discussions a couple months back with Chris, the guy with the engine block. At the time, he was still attempting to contact the new owner of Vern's former car.
That's the only W1 with white interior Daytona I've heard about - plus it has a Bonneville connection. Very cool car.

I've had some discussions with Chris, the guy with the engine block. He is still attempting to contact the new owner of Vern's former car, without much recent success. The last official record I had of it changing hands was through eBay in 2005, everything else is just rumor.

Someone is telling me you have a broadcast sheet for my Daytona. XX29L9B390009 is that true? Thanks and Happy New Year. Ron Kornet rkdaytona@yahoo.com
Very nice looking W1 Daytona.
The F6 in the avatar is a pretty slick looking ride as well.
always glad to hear about a reunion like that, and always glad to see more wing car owners posting on here.

My recollection was that it had a Hemi when it ran at Bonneville. This is early 1980's.
By 1976, the car was looking a little worse for wear. This was taken in the Motel Birmingham parking lot at the 1976 Talladega meet. Note the white interior is still there.
Glad to see that the car has been so well recognized in its run at Bonniville...on another note anyone selling a 500?

It lost a rear wheel on the parade lap.
I was the one who put the 4th back on-it was a pain in the ass because the tire was so large I had to jack the car up twice to get the axle to drop enough to get it back in.
the brake drum flew, too, and so did most of the stuff inside. i hadn't seen that happen before.
Sounds similar to the 2 hemi daytonas doing a lap .And wheel or brake drum came off

I had just gotten the car back after a drunk driver had hit me head on. Was no nose cone available at that time so found a 1969 charger front end in a junk yard so put that on until I could find a nose cone
