Both failures points out than the cancelling cam service could be the solution, since it carries also the contacts.

Don't spill any Acetone on any painted surfaces as this may remove paint.

1970 Charger from the Facebook Page "Minnesota Railroads". Photo by Greg Smith in the early 70's. Per the comments, it was Greg's Charger and it "met a bad ending under an 18 wheeler on the freeway during a thunderstorm".

Why don't you look into a hidden antenna, then you won't have to drill any holes. Cleaner look.

Put a few layers of painters tape on the area to be drilled. Use a small starter bit and move up in size until it fits a step drill bit. Use cutting oil to keep it cool, and take your time. Dont push down. Let the bit do the work. When done, use a small file to debur the edges, clean it with acetone, and put some paint on the edges.
The fender is thin enough to ise either titanium or high carbon bits. I have both from HF and they work fine.

Paint, Body & Trim / Antenna Mounting Help
Last post by Mopar Crazy - October 27, 2024, 11:45:14 AM
I put a new AMD fender on my 68 Charger. It's about that time to drill the hole for the front antenna.
I have the correct location but I'm Leary about drilling into a new painted fender.
Any advice as to what type of bit or stepdown bit to use, and the best way to prep.

Thank you  :2thumbs:
