Title: Dodge Daytona Talmadge Prince death
Post by: taxspeaker on March 06, 2019, 12:50:34 PM
Some old Nascar videos- At the 2:02 mark, 18 laps into his first Nascar race. Tough video to watch the entire length. RIP Talmadge

Makes you realize how far cars have some along in occupant protection....especially in side impact protection. Many would have survived similar accidents in modern race cars (or even street cars) ....some might have even walked away.

Our local legend Charlie Glotzbach won the race Talmadge was killed in at Daytona-the 2nd of 2 125 milers. Tough boys then and now.

When Prince bought the winged Dodge from James Hylton,  he was advised by James not to run Daytona for his first time in the car.      At that point in time,  it was easy to get a NASCAR license.    Anyone could show up and try to qualify.
