Title: Reproduction relays
Post by: Highway by the Sea on January 02, 2008, 12:51:11 PM
Does anyone reproduce the headlight warning relay and key warning switch for the 71-74 B bodys?  I need these for my 1973 Plymouth Satellite.  It is a pain to bid on EBAY.

relay OR BUZZER ?

I HAVE 4 in my stock OF THOSE headlights warning buzzer I think!!! ( if not more ). They aren't for B body specifically, just because the bracket shape, but works the same. Just that once screw down the dash, fits on diff position. I can get more in fact. Old Mopar dealer down here have about a dozen of those.

Now, key in buzzer... being the same horn relay I have to check for some in my stock or can locate some

can take pics and post

they are 71/73. 74 is a diff one

If the bracket is the only differene between yours & the replacement:  you might be able to reuse your original
housing & just swap the guts!

I am actually looking for the headlight warning buzzer and the key warning buzzer switch that is installed in the steering collumn.  EBAY prices for these are outrageous.  I may end up having to shell out for this anyway.  Any Chrysler dealership that I try to call will not help.  I happen to know that there are still NOS parts in some dealerships because I found a NOS trunk lock at one in Illinois, and I had to argue my head off to the clerk on the phone to check for it in stock.  He kept insisting that they did not have it (even though I told him I had information that they did) and all he had to do was check.  Boy, was he embarassed when he did fiinally check ,and found it!

by the buzzer, just don't worry, I have a dozen available. Since I have to send some stuff to Iowa pretty soon, you will have to pay shipping inside USA.

As for the key in switch... I also have 3 but one of them damaged. I repaired one of them and fit on my car, keeping a NOS that I have, but as spare. Some difference between them. Some models are keyed code to fit on hole on column, beside the fitting screw, some models are made to fit with two screws instead the keyed code stud... both are interchangeable.

anyway... will send a PM... so check ;)

How much do you want for the headlight buzzer Nacho?  I prefer NOS.  My email is Batmanpw3@aol.com.  I also do not seem to have the wires or diagram to hook this up.  I do not believe that my Plymouth came with this option, but it has a working seatbelt buzzer and light.

I do have also also Nos 72/73 seatbelt buzzers... will post pics of those.

Used stuff I have are key in switches, not the buzzers, however buzzers are a little bit rusted on cap, because bad storaging. Everyone in working conditions anyway.

Did you check the links on PM I sent ?

Yes I got them, thank you!  I had to contact the seller (of the lot of items) to find out if they are tilt or non-tilt steering wheel.  As soon as I hear from him that they are non-tilt I will most likely buy them.  Thanks for the wiring diagram too. Thanks to it, I have found the wires in my car that fit the headlight buzzer!  I  need my own since I am tired of forgetting and leaving on my headights!

doesn't really matter if tilt or not, really IS the same assembly as far I recall right now by pics. everything of that lot works ( but the turning switch, with the extra cornering harness, that really works just will have a hanging out harness around )... I was to buy to me, but I got one week before that auction appeared a NOS ignition switch on $30. I was to get anyway, but with this GREAT NEW:

now I have to save EVERY PENNY to buy what really need. No more just "extra" parts

this is what I could sell. Notice how the bracket shape is diff than the pic above. That's because as far I recall right now this are for A body application ( or C ), not B. anyway works the same just that will fit horizontal instead vertical. Unless if you have the old one, you can change the cap with bracket to fit on same position.

IF YOU don't have the old buzzer you can fit without problem. This kind buzzer has been already fit on my buddy's 73. About wiring. If you don't have I can make it for you. I have the plugs, terminals and right colored wires from donor harnesses. The female plug provision to feed the buzzer is already in your car, around the ignition switch pigtail as far I recall right now , just need the harness extension. PIECE OF CAKE!
