David Patik and his sister used to own 400604.     David just wrote me this--------We used to own 400604. It is F6, c6w, column automatic, center seat.
Original engine was gone; car had old 383.
Caution.... Low flying aircraft.

Yes David Patik used to own my car, I purchased from him many years ago when I was in my early twenties, a real barn find back in the day! have known about this car and the build sheet for a while and at the time the current owner was not willing to send it to me even after I sent him all my documentation of 400604 ownership. which included fender tag rubbing, vin tag rub and pictures of title in my name. I am just sick about this!!!

years ago I was fortunate enough to be able to get a matching numbers motor back to another fellow mopar brother, all I asked in return was the same year, same condition RB block back and for him to take care of the shipping costs associated with the transaction. I thought that is what the hobby is really about, reuniting dreams!!!

Redbird

I don't think anyone owes you anything.

If you want it, offer him something he wants; the broadcast sheet to his car, parts or money.

I get that people want the broadcast sheet that originally came with their car, for the purity of the hobby, because it should be with the original car, because it makes the car worth a lot more, whatever.

Every car I see offered for sale makes a big deal about the documentation and the car being worth a lot more if it has it. Obviously it is a money issue.  :brickwall:

Maybe you'll have better luck with this owner.  It seems as though a member on here works for Hendricks, maybe he can help.

its not all about the money because ill probably never sell my car

Seems pretty sad that Rick Hendrick Motorsports won't give up your fender tag. I doubt that Rick himself would see such a request. I wouldn't give up that's for sure because if the car is sold who knows where it might go.

It would be nice if someone on here could help you out.

As for the car itself I really like the colour combo, it was nice of them to post up all the pics that they did. The pics do negatively affect the price but I wouldn't be a happy camper if I seen the car in person without all the pics. For the $50k or so that they are looking to make on the car I am surprised they are presenting it in the condition that they are. I think some time and effort at least under the hood would go a long way.

I called Hendricks and talked with a nice gentleman and explained the situation. He said he would get back to me, just playing the waiting game now.... been a couple days but still holding out hope. I also sent stevearino a message.

I would phone again on Monday as the auction is over. If the car gets sold you will have to try and track down the car again. Its too bad you can't talk to Rick personally although he might not even know anything about it. Keep trying and good luck.

Yes Dave that is exactly my thoughts, I will call on Monday and if only I could talk with Rick and or Ray I do believe that would help, Thank you for the kind words.  P.S. love the pic of the 70 sublime Charger, only wish mine looked as nice as yours, pretty awesome car!!!

Looks like GAA is going to auction this Daytona.  According to earlier post: motor is a restamp, wrong stamp on trans, rad support & trunk #'s don't match VIN.  Wrong build sheet.  Did wyliemn71 get this build sheet for his Daytona?

Well an update about the buildsheet that is correct for my car, I had a talk with some gentlemen at Hendricks, the sheet can be purchased, but im having a hard time with the asking price and ive learned the sheet is now laminated, (grr)... its not looking promising at this point in time to re-unite my car and the sheet.

Sgt Superbird

That just doesn't make sense to me, wyliemn71. A build sheet has really no value to anyone but the person with that property! How sad of a situation. If it were me, I'd feel good to reunite a sheet with a car. How cool is that and what a great "pay it forward" gesture that is! (Plus, it's the right thing to do.) It's only my opinion, but how can a person hold an item hostage that really isn't theirs? If we're getting the entire story, shame on you, Hendricks!
