Queens NY! About 15 minutes from our very own FLG. You ever make it over to the Base in Garden City Long Island? I spent about four years there as the A-slash for the Security Forces unit. Wasn't really what I wanted to do as far as Security Forces, but not all bad. 24 frs on, 2 days off.

Dan T,
Nice F6 green charger. I haven't seen that many with that color. If I remember right, it was a spring of 69 color only.
My 69 1986. Dam I'm old :D
Thanks! I really dig those civil war shots, thanks alot, I wish I was there to arrange the scene with the characters...
I was thinking :scratchchin: if you could find someone re-enacting General Robert E. Lee, up on a,.. ahem,.. Charger and all, with saber drawn, that would be like the greatest General Lee Photo of all time. :yesnod:
:shruggy: Imagine the Charger rearing up and just behind a Jenny Lee.... :icon_smile_wink:
I know I am percived as anti General Lee, but really I'm not, I just think there's an awful lot of them, and would rather see some more creative individual mods on '69s... The TV show had really very little impact on me personally.
Anyhow really cool to see all your '69s...

THat was referred to as the "mopar building." One side was 6 pack cars and one side were hemi cars. He also had a 1972 six pack car. I actually sat in it. I have more pics of the yard. I used to go all the time.

Nope, no airbags. I have the full Hotchkis TVS suspension. So cranked down the 1" torsion bars up front with the right adjustments to the control arms and struts to have it sit low and not destroy the tires and out back the leaf springs are prelowered 2 inches.

I have just a tad over 1 degree of negative camber, just what Hotchkis recommends. I have about 8000 miles on these tires and they still look brand new, no signs of any unusual wear.

I know mpg is a moot point when driving a Charger but when its used for a daily driver what are you getting with this car?

Thanks for the compliments guys, I really appreciate it. I cant complain about the mpg-other than a Pertronix ignition, its a completely stock 318/904/2.76s and at 65 mph it will get right around 20 mpg and probably 13-15 around town. Its a great road car, very quiet and comfortable and Ive driven it all up and down the east coast. The rust in the quarters is getting too hard to ignore so I will have to patch them, maybe this winter, and shoot a new coat of B5. The 318 is at 227K on all its original pistons, rings, and rods and other than burning a little oil around the valve guides, it is rock solid and reliable. I want to see if I can get it to 300K without a rebuild.
Quick story about the car-Im in the Coast Guard and I like I said I drive it almost daily (usually not in the rain and never on the rare occasion it snows here) and when I went out to one of the Cutters last week, one of the young Coasties, he couldnt have been more than 18 or 19-from the boat came running up to the Charger with his mouth wide open and this look of amazement on his face. He says "WHOA IS THAT A REAL 69 DODGE CHARGER???!!!"
I said "yeah, youve never seen one before?"
He answers "no sir not in real life! Just on TV or the movies!"
So I gave him the keys. He had never driven a car without power steering and brakes before so he only drove it around the parking lot but I think he will name his first born after me. :icon_smile_big:
That was his first exposure to a classic Mopar musclecar (yes I know its a 'only' 318 but to him its a musclecar)
Drive your cars guys!
Glad to hear you enjoy your car and let others do as well. Let's keep them on the road. :2thumbs:

This is one of the best looking General Lee clones I've ever seen. You have the correct 7" wide Vector wheels (rather than the 8.5" wide versions that a lot of GL clones have), originals even (rather than the recent reissues); the correct BF Goodrich tires with blackwalls facing out (rather than the raised white letter side facing out like a lot of GL clones have); door numbers that are a match for the two '82-'85 "hero" cars that Wayne Wooten now owns (a lot of GL clones have door numbers that are way off from any used on the show), the correct matching '82-'85 General Lee text on the roof, and the orange color looks right.
It looks like you're missing a few of the details such as the CB antenna in the back, the rollbar, and I can't see from that angle if you have the push bumper or not, but regardless of that, you've got the important parts dead on; the parts that really defined the look and feel of the real TV show cars.
I worked (poured beer lol) for my friends here in Colorado. I parked the 69 next to our beer garden for Oktoberfest this past weekend. We even had a polka band next to our booth

Thank you very much, this is very nice!! I will try to dig up some more pictues. It has everything other then the CB antenna and roll bar, which I specifically left off (I actually have the correct tear drop antenna/base in my garage). The roll bar is kind of annoying for the street and so is the CB antenna (and i didnt want to scratch my paint or deal w/ it when I stick the car in the garage). Most people dont really know anyways, and if they do...I dont really care.
Interior is done in the light tan color and I have the wide later season push bar (built from the jig they found that was used to make the originals). I also have the correct center caps for it, but didnt have them with me when we mounted the hweels and then never bothered to take the wheels off to put on. Will get toit one day, but technicaly if you most of the cars in the show didnt have it either so what i have is correct anyways.
Thank you again for the compliments!!!

I LOVE THIS COLOR! What is it specifically?
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
The car was first painted in LEE1's Original color
T3 Light Bronse Metallic, after that the
V2 Hemi Orange color came directly over the T3.
This is the same way Warner Brothers painted the Original LEE1 ;)

I think he meant Brock's purple 69, however thanks for posting that info and the pic, I never knew this. When I painted cars we regularly used a different base color to create the desired effect. I like a gold base under a candy apple red for one!
So I see you're from the Netherlands. Would you happen to know if the US car show at your southern neighbors' Antwerp docks still happens?
Pretty cool Mr. Lee
I will agree that I think they was wanting to know about Brock's car. Hard to tell sometimes. :pity:
I took it to mean Brocks car as well. I don't know the color specificlly but I do know Brock posted it here on the site somewhere.
Yeah, I meant Brock's Purple '69. Don't get me wrong, the bronze metallic is a very attractive touch to a beautiful car, there's just always something that really caught my eye with a deep purple. It has that "dark and mean" type look that a black one would have, but it's also eye-popping like a bright orange or sublime General Lee.

This car was a white hat special too. It was mettalic blue with blue interior. I think it must have been owned by about a hundred people, its rough in al lot of places and needs some TLC. No problem. It found it's last ever owner last year and the repairs and upgrades are taking place. It'll be well taken care of.

Hello all,
I haven't been on the boards in 2-3 yrs.... probably because of the great advice I've gotten from y'all my ride is running the best it ever has! I've asked for help when I found chunks of metal in the oil of my A833 to a broken off bolt in one of the heads of the 440. Every time I was able to go forward and not get too discouraged. So yeah, thank you so much!!
I followed as close as possible with the resto to the fender tag, whoever ordered this one sure did it right.
Bob

Make sure your kick-down linkage is properly adjusted. If it isn't late shifting and/or keeping you from getting to WOT is possible.

I'm digging that yellow tail stripe! I saw a black 68 with a purple stripe that looks great too for not being a "factory option". :2thumbs:
When I first saw a pic of the car with the yellow stripe I wasn't all that crazy about it but I liked it much better once seeing it in person. Sure stands out with the black and keeps with the Scat Pack bee theme.
I always liked the yellow stripe on that car. :2thumbs: It's very unique as well.
The overhead shots are a cool and not often seen angle on the car. Keepat has an overhead shot of his silver 68 that's really cool, and shows off the lines of the car you can't see from the ground.

Here's my 69 C500 work in process.
:drool5:, would love to have this car great starting point , ? vinyl top on a 500 , is that a rare option to one of these , Guy's ? ive never seen one
The word is that no Charger 500 left Creative Industries with a vinyl top although some were sold new from the dealership wearing one. I don't know when the vinyl top was added to this one, except it was very early in its life; the top was completely trashed by 1977 according to they guy who owned it then.

Thanks guys, it looks pretty good for a "shade-tree" restoration. My friend did the lions share of the work (except the engine was done in a pro shop) and did a magnificent job! He is an artist with a welder and handles a paint-gun pretty good also! (It is painted R6 just as from the factory) with single-stage acrylic enamel similar to the factory paint and it came out great.
The pictures do not show it very well but the body creases and gaps are straight as an arrow and uniform on both sides!

Very nice. For some reason I thought your car was orange but it looks red in those photos. (are you somewhere in the Netherlands?)

Hi Ghoste,
It's red yes,but in the dark with the light on it looks orange :scratchchin:

Very nice Charger, Kokxville and to answer 69rtsetracpac's question, The tires are Nitto Extreme Drag Radials and the size is 275x60x15. They are fantastic tires on dry pavement but, evil-slippery on wet pavement. My Charger will never be driven or even parked in the rain if I can help it so, No problem for me.
