A friend of mine sent me that same add a few days ago. There is no doubt that it is my black car. xx29l9b414652 ,,, next no,,,after the copper color car from NC.,, that Rob at Silver creek concrete has.
A brief history lesson,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,XX29L9B414652,came off the transport at Century Motors,,,Winipeg,,,,,,,,,,,Very soon it was turned into drag race car by century motors. 440 out,,Hemi in,,steel nose gone fiber glass on,,,,,,,,top cut out of tran,, hump. to change tran, from top,,ETC,. Was run by a Mr Ross & a, Mr Wakeman forCentury motors,,,,After 2 or 3 years the car was put up for sale.
THIS IS THE TIME PEROID FOR THE NEWSPAPER ADD<THAT THIS STORY IS ALL ABOUT,
Car was bought by Dennis Darling, ( I talked to him a few weeks ago) Dennis ran car 2 or 3 years , then sold it off piece at a time. Went thru couple more owner's before i found it in a barn. The car now lives in Missouri,, has gone thru a complete and mind bogleing expensive restoration.
That's my story,,and I'm sticking to it-------------3--daytona

Hey 3Daytona..... you were down at Mopars at the Battleship with this car back in April. Me too. Wish I could have met you and look over your car a little better. I was set up in the swap meet section and spent 90% of the day there. From what I saw, your car looks GREAT now. Boy it came a long way!

Hey " Corndog" you should have flag me down. I was the old fart, riding around on electric scooter. Yes, Black Gold has come a long way from the night I loaded it in Winnipeg. I'm going to drag it around the country as long as I can. Parkinson sucks!!!

I do believe it was a red one.
And it was burned by the owner up in Treherne in the mid-1970's?? :scratchchin:
Or was it the one from Steinbach that burned? :shruggy:

"As for the original car, that's another story.Around 1976 or so, I was talking to a fellow worker and since I had the Charger at the time, he mentioned he knew of a wrecked Daytona out near his hometown of Treherne Manitoba. The owner of the Daytona had purposely set fire to the car to try and collect insurance but he was caught and the car was left to rot out near that town. Somewhere along the line somebody removed the nosecone and it was sitting in a coal bin in an old service station in Treherne. This is where I found it and bought it for the grand total of $75.00. It was banged up a bit and the last coat of paint on it was a metal flake
red if I remember correctly".
BTW: Brian G = UFO
Robin M = Magnumcharger (me) :icon_smile_big:
Sorry Robin I don't have a clue. I merely posted since many assume that the cone that Rick bought is from the 2nd Century Daytona (which it may very well be the case) But there was one other Daytona shipped to Steinbach which is also MIA. Of course there is always the possibility that the burned car is not one of the Manitoba cars at all!

True.
I did find the ad for the second Century car and it is/was red.
As FJMG posted,it may not be a Manitoba car that got parted.
To make the story a little more exciting, I suppose the nose in question, could have come off of my car. It definately had a fiberglass nose early on. And for some funny reason, :icon_smile_wink:, the fiberglass nose was 2in,narrow. 3--daytona
