I finally finished re-doing my entire fuel system front to back, including a new tank, in-tank pump, fuel lines, and Fitech 30002 unit (Go EFI 4 600HP).  

In case they help anyone, here are my measurements for the new "Tanks Inc" in-tank pump and sender install (in picture form).

By all means use these as a reference, but verify your own measurements.

This is great documentation of your install.  It should make it much faster for others to just verify your measurements and follow your pictures.       :2thumbs:

I'm not sure it matters, but I will point out that you listed the tank depth as 6-9/16".   Half of 6-9/16" is 3-9/32".   Your drawing shows it as 3-7/16".    As I said, I doubt this matters a lot because that is probably close enough.   Not trying to be a jerk and look for mistakes, Just wanted to point that out in case it was an issue.    Good work   :2thumbs:

Good catch! You are absolutely right, I'm not sure if I just rounded it or spaced it completely.

Update: it looks like that measurement is half the tank depth + 1/8", and then I rounded to the closest sixteenth.

I re-wired the entire car with a Ron Francis kit, which actually had a specific "Fuel pump" circuit on it, but beyond that I also put in a Fitech EFI unit which has a wire used to power the fuel pump directly from the CPU (it will control the voltage to the pump so it isn't running at full speed when unnecessary).

To keep adding to this thread, here is a list of all the parts and fittings I used to get from the new Tanks Inc fuel pump all the way to the Fitech unit (as well as a terribly drawn picture).  Other than standard tools I bought a cheap tubing bender that seemed to do the trick when I needed it (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-900675).

There are probably better ways to to plumb up the fuel system, but if this can help someone from buying a lot of wrong parts and spending too much on shipping five too many times, great!

I ran them from the tank, up and over the axle/exhaust in the passenger wheel-well, then along the inside passenger side frame rail.  Since I have sub frame connectors I had to slightly widen a hole in the torsion bar cross member next to the torsion bar support to run the two 3/8" steel hard lines through, and finally terminated the hard lines in the engine bay 4-6" below the blower motor. 

I know i'm breaking the cardinal rule by not posting pictures, so I will try to get some up next weekend showing where I routed the new lines.

Was this an EFI specific tank you installed? I modified a standard tank with no baffles to accept the in tank pump. No issues until I plant the throttle pedal, then the pump sucks air if there is less than 3/4 of a tank of fuel. The EFI system coughs due to low fuel pressure. If this is an EFI tank any chance you can get a pic of the internal baffles they used?

I put in the Tanks inc tank made specifically for an in-tank EFI pump:

Installation was easy, and I have no complaints.  I tried to take pictures of the baffles before installation but couldn't get anything decent, so I'll attach some I found on google below.  Tanks inc essentially welds in a tub where the fuel pump sits with two holes in the bottom corners to allow fuel in and out, but it keeps the fuel from sloshing away from the pump inlet during sharp turns.

Thanks for the pics ! Didn't think it would be such a simple system of baffles. I have seen much more complicated systems on some tanks. One way doors, multiple baffle walls... etc. Wonder if this would solve my fuel starvation issue?

I think it would definitely help. I bought the tank, pump, sender, and straps as a kit from summit (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tnk-tcr9a-t-kit), but you can buy the tank alone for a little over $200.  It's powder coated too, which is nice.

I would highly recommend to check if the fuel sending unit works before mounting it to the tank and fixing the tank to the car, as I did  :brickwall:
After all I realized the sending unit doesen´t work. Now I have to uninstall all of it again to check the sending unit.

I'm picturing my stock block with the opening for the stock fuel pump to access the camshaft.

Maybe I missed it....what did you use to cover that pump opening no longer in use?  Simple plate of some kind, with gasket?

I'm installing a Tanks inc. setup now so I thought I would bump this topic back to the top since it is such a good documentation of how to install.     :2thumbs:

What is everyone doing about the vent for the Tanks inc. setup.  The vent needs to be higher than the fill cap, but this would put the vent inside the pillar and that is a hazzard for potential gas fumes inside the car.   Please explain what you guys have done on your vents.  Thanks, Clark.

Mine is hanging in the wheel well at the moment, but eventually, I'm going to join it to the vent that  protrudes down through the trunk floor, and vents to the fuel door.

Gonna see how it works there.

I plugged both vent holes on the tank, still using the original vent on the filler tube (going down to the frame)
