Title: A good looking Superbird tribute on Bring a Trailer
Post by: Seabeckredneck on May 16, 2020, 05:16:34 PM
With the bidding already at $50K, I've really curious as to what this 'bird will fetch.
  It is really nicely done.

Interesting that it started life as a '70 Road Runner COUPE RM21, yet the car is a hardtop !  :scratchchin: :yesnod:

  Hey Mark!
No, not officially. I've got the full roll cage in now along with sub frame connectors and the rear window plug. Now I'm rebuilding the front suspension. But I've been working so much that I haven't had time to get out into the shop.  These submarines keep coming back needing maintenance but that overtime is what funds the project. Little bit at a time.

IIRC this is Doug A.'s older build out of Oregon, that sold unfinished (painted, just not assembled) and traded hands, and once again looking for a new owner, is a nice clone, tuff market to sell in right now though with what's going on, any other time I'm sure it would hit $100K easy

What are the headers, x pipe and headpipes that are boeing used here?

Optical illusion, I thought the same too!, but that's just the washer trunk inboard lip, shorter than the entire washer, just look at a few pics of originals, you'll see the same

Here's some original "pcs"... I think we forget how far forward the SB wingbase/mount really is...

Yep. That's Doug A's old car. I bought in pieces and assembled it with a 440 6 barrel and four speed. I traded it for 5 cars from another collector. It was really nice but bad blood between me and the previous owner made it hard to keep. I took a 10k (at least) bath because of him. Otherwise it's a really nice car. The fendertag is a fake. Confirmed, I just took out a copy of the title from when I owned it.
