Sold for $180k, I was shocked at how high it got.  It had a little rust in the pass quarter and a single repaint in 1972.  The middle of the front seat covers had been recovered with a lighter blue material.  Not exactly survivor status.  These "tweener" cars tend to not bring the big bucks but this one did.

Cool that it owned new by AJ King.  Pete Hamilton's car owner in 1969.

Nice there is a list of parts that should be found NOS MoPar, instead of "whatever" brand.   :Twocents:

Saw the car. Very neat car, one owner with a early repaint. It was interesting that there were plates mounted over holes in fenders which stopped debris flying up through the fender scoops and down side of car.No estimate of what owner wanted but people around were circling to get it cheap.

I saw this one too. It really needed to be restored but it is a really solid car to start with. I had a bidders pass and I was tempted to go back Saturday night. I talked with the owner because I was skeptical that the original owner would bring it to a major auction after storing for so long. He was a really nice guy and was very forth coming with info. He and his brother bought it as an investment in 1969. I figured it would sell for a hundred not 180k. It just goes to show that there are no deals at these auctions.

Wow, that is really cool it was still in their hands yet.       That explains the great paperwork that came along with it.   They fielded a number of NASCAR Chargers under the King Enterprises or Activated Metals name.

This one, you can see the Activated Metals name on the sail panel.     That is who the Daytona was sold to on the paperwork above.
