Title: Pre HIGH Impact ColoUrs...
Post by: 500Jon on October 30, 2016, 05:29:36 AM
Hi Aero's, and C500's...

Obviously some Aero's were pre High-Impact colour schemes.
But Folks forget how nice the original colours actually were!
I know a lot of Mopar Folks who hate their cars original colour.

They are forgetting how well they have stood the test of time!
I have a twenty year old French car where the paint is almost down to the metal.
Fortunately its galvanised so it won't rust, beside the point, its faded REAL BAD!

So has your 45-50 year old paint TOO!!!
A fresh repaint of F8, Y2, Hearing aid Beige will be truly wonderful!
Its a bold step to coloUr change and most will live to regret it, I believe?

I too have sinned, GY9 to Sassy Grass...

F8 to B5 on my C500, a step tooooo FAR methinks. :slap:
Before I clear coat, shall I try some B5??? :drool5:

ITS NOT EASY BEING GREEN

Green on Green is maybe tooo much green.
But hey, being green is the new way to save the planet.
Electric racing cars on the streets of New York, what next???

10% of Global warming is cars, I blame the diesels...
Surely a few thousand bigblocks Mopar can't be to blame :nana:

Is this 70 tooo green...

I personally like to see a car painted original color if its a restoration. For me, I'm fascinated by the pale yellow, brown, or (insert undesirable) colored cars, because you just don't see them much.

In any case, it's just paint - it can always be changed by the next owner.

Funny that you use this car as an example, as a lot of people (myself included) feel it looked MUCH better when it was a non-stock color...

I too prefer the original color for a restoration of how a car was born. :2thumbs:
It is also true that a color change can be made at any time in the future but the cost of doing that is high.
What is a fair est. -for just a color change- on a finished car? :o

If I was lucky to have a C500, I really would not care what color it is.    I like them all.

Well said Aero!

Its not luck, its money that buys what you want in life.

It was easy buying a C500, right place right time, a no-brainer in fact.
I just got to work out how much its worth now and who to sell it too... :pity:

I suppose thats why Folks like Ebay, you get what its worth on the day?
Trouble is though, it will probably go to a speculator and thats BAD!!! :slap:

My Mum always says 'be careful what you wish for' now I understand... :-\

To be honest as much as I've loved some of my cars....once they are gone they are gone and I try not to dwell on it...If a car goes to a speculator or even a flipper....as long as I got the money I wanted then I try not to care. The new owner could crush into a block if he wants...its his motor now!! If you worry too much about what happens to it after its gone then you probably should not have sold it.

I think if I came to own a Panther Pink Charger, I'd have to sell it.  It's rare enough that it' be a shame to change the color, but I don't personally want a pink car.
