Anybody remember this 67 build. I think that most of us agreed that it would eventually end up for sale considering the look on the kids face.
I love the paint scheme, I also like the interior. And whats not to like about the Hemi.
The wheels. . not so much.
some things i really like, like the smoothed front bumpers, and some i really dont... like the interior... :eek2:
:shruggy:
I dont like the front seats :drool5: , but i would drive that thing looks good to me !
That car rocks! I like everything about it except the guages in the dash :eek2:
I'd be proud to call that one my own :icon_smile_big: But not at that price! :pity:
dont mind the white face gauges but the steering wheel has to go !
This is at least the 2nd time i have seen this car for sale.
Show little or no sentimental value that was shown on the show...
The interior reminds me more of Pimp My Ride than Overhaulin'.
like they threw the kitchen sink at it and all of it stuck...

You guys ares so picky, drive that sucker into the ground just like it is and was meant too.
Picky? Tell 'ya what, you buy the car for me, and I will fullfill your wishes. I will beat that car down just to please you. I'm looking forward to your bid to get me that car. It's starts at 75K with a reserve.

like around 65-70% of owners on TV show
NOTHING of the interior likes... is a PIECE OF S...
exterior is pretty much decent
I dont like what they did to it period. Well, maybe the Hemi part. :Twocents:

Actually, YES! Sometimes he puts a pin stripe on and makes it 3-tone :icon_smile_big:
Rule #1: NO ONE is gonna like EVERY custom or modified car.
Rule #2: If you don't like it, don't look at it.
Rule #3: There's an a$$ for every seat.
Personally, I'm not drooling over the interior, but I sure like the exterior. :yesnod:
Funny, I was just looking at this auction earlier today. While the exterior looks great, the interior is TERRIBLE. Looks like they put little to no though into it - looks like a rush-job.
1 - why the he!! do the sets say Cobra on them?
2 - the radio head unit looks like a Best Buy installation - no trim or anything done to make it work with the rest of the dash.
3 - The gauges are the worst part - what, did he just cut out the center of the originals and stick in the aftermarket ones? Again, looks like zero thought went into this.
Although it's neat to see what these guys can do to customize in such a short period of time, I don't like Foose's style. I've never been a fan of the huge madern wheels either. I would never want this guy to do one of my cars - just not my style.
I want to see one person here though who HATES that engine! Mein Got, to have an engine like that under the hood of my car....
heres one that hates the engine... I remember this build, it's the reason I stopped watching the show. It was an original 440 car, when they pulled the engine the chain broke and the engine smashed to the ground.... thats right, the ORIGINAL MOTOR was just smashed and thrown away. It pissed me off. so I stopped watching.
I've seen them do this to many cars, but this one just hit home for some reason.
I like it all but the front seats. I say get another set of seats and do them in the same colors and it would be good to go.
I think the price is too high, but they are going to try to capitalize on Foose's name being all over it. :coolgleamA:

Yes I hated that as well but are you saying that you wouldn't want that HEMI to put under the hood of a project?
That 67 always makes me think of a friends car in my club, he actually won the 69 :shruggy:
Dan
In my opinion the wheels on that 69 are the wrong size. Needs a little smaller on the rear and a little bigger on the front to even it out.

I know people are going to look at me wierd here, but no, I would take the 440 worked over instead of that 5.7 anyday of the week, and that includes the 6.1 as well. I build a stout 360 for my charger, and it just.... I don't know, just didn't work in the car... it didn't "feel" right... so now... 440 baby :D

You better look again Khyron, thats no 5.7 under the hood of that Foose-mobile.
:smilielol: Wheels.
:smilielol: Gauges.
:smilielol: Interior
:smilielol: 67 Charger :poke: :poke:
You're right G-man, he shouldn't have been destroying anything as beuatiful as a 67 Charger.
Why in the freaking world would you pull the original electro-luminicent dash out of a 1st gen car? :brickwall:
That interior is ghastly. :eek2:
WTF is a Shaker doing on a 1st gen Charger :brickwall: The interior doesn't look bad but the original gauges restored would have been much cooler. :icon_smile_cool:
Those oversized rally wheels look Hideous ! :coocoo: :puke:
On the plus side the bodywork and paint are gorgous. :2thumbs: Too bad about the original motor being trashed. A nice 500in stroker would eat that Hemi for breakfast. :icon_smile_big:
Ron
I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THOSE OVERSIZED RALLEY'S ON THE BIRDABLE
they're on the Neo chally that crashed in the one lap of America race too,.. look pretty good for oversize bling rims.. IMO.
(the Fooose Ralleys)
I think the car looks pretty good. Just not $75K good. I also dont know / dont care if something looks original as long as it looks good and functions properly.
Quote.... thats right, the ORIGINAL MOTOR was just smashed and thrown away.
Not to be suspicious, but is there a possibility that was done to get more ratings?

BTW, I got 'em on my project '69 I'm building. IMO, they are GORGEOUS wheels, especially up close in person. The car is even more assembled now, they look great on a 2nd gen, IMO. They are much, MUCH better than those offered by Billet Specialties.

I think the guages, front seats, and steering wheel all look way out of place too. The shaker I thought was cool at first, but then I realized they didn't do a real shaker with the baseplate hooked to the carb. If that was the case I wouldn't be able to see plug wires through it.

it got the opposite reaction from me if it was....
They just cleared the car when the chain snapped and they ran like bitchs as that work of art pancaked itself on the floor :eek2:

Not an original 440 car though, original 383 2bbl, note the 5th digit "G".

Wow, if I was Chip Foose, I'd be kind of ticked. You do something nice for a guy and they turn around and sell it to make a profit. I could tell the kid wasn't really into that car. He looked like he'd prefer a ricer instead. I loved the part where the engine broke the chain. Most the owners on that show love their cars and would never sell them in a million years because of the emotional attachment. I think what Chip does is super nice. I see the look in his eyes when they first see their cars and it seems he does it out of the kindness of his heart. He realizes it's more than a car to them and it represents an emotional experience or family member/friendship relationship. He uses his skills to touch others lives. What a stud. I keep waiting for him to "steal" my 68 Charger but much to my disappointment, I just went out to the garage and it's still there! :'(
I'll throw my 2 cents in also.
1. agree with most on the wheels just don't look right on a !st gen.
2. and what is with shaving the door handles ? Just never have liked that look myself. :shruggy:
only a couple hours left
Alas, it has ended. And not even adding a "Buy It Now" price of $115,000.00 could temp the rich and famous. :smilielol:

I agree w/your comment.
Nobody on line here could build that car for what has been put into it at the asking price.
I see so many smashing it and other cars tweaked, modified other than stock, gees, being original is so out dated, ha-ha.
Bodymen/painters don't get the respect they/we deserve as often as we should.
I'd give it all kinds of respect and praise the great Foose if I thought it looked like something worth respecting. Just because he's a talented body and paint man doesn't mean that everything he touches becomes a great work of art. It doesn't even mean it's tasteful or improved and even though some may see it that way, some obviously don't.
Replay of this episode was on the other day...... :eek2:
As stated by others, the things that bugged me were:
A) You could tell that that goofy kid didn't give two craps about the Charger and that car was gonna get sold off. He didn't even know who Foose or Overhaulin' was.
B) The '67 was nice car to start with..not a basket case. Replacing that beautiful original interior with that Frankenstein they put in was just blasphemous.
C) The whole concept of the show was completely void in this episode....you know the drill....nice, deserving motorhead gets his pride and joy the facelift that he couldn't afford or have time to get done.....tears everywhere at the end. This show was just awkward to watch.
If that beautiful car was my grandma's/dad's and now mine....you'd have to pry it from my cold, dead fingers. And they wouldn't be able to air the episode if it was 'stolen' and Foosified...
I wonder what happened to the car and the kid?
The kid didnt know what a charger was......

Well that's why America is great: to each their own.
As for deriding the owners for selling these cars, no one here can genuinely stand and point their finger in criticism, because if the right person with the right amount of cash came along, or life circumstances dictated a need, I know that some here wouldn't think twice about selling. Hell, most of you have said as much over the years. Again, to each their own...
Well said myk......thats why i love it when people criticize my car, but damn it no one does....on occasion i hear about my big rim hate but thats it. :eek2:
