Ryan, did you have an AMD, Goodmark, and NOS rear valance? It read that way in earlier posts. If so, which one was worse, the AMD or Goodmark?

Ryan

They both had their ups and downs.  NOS fit like a glove.  The contour that goes under the bumper sucks on the AMD panel.  The goodmark was a little better in that area however it was missing all of the wire tabs, and the two mounting tabs on the underside.  The amd matched up to the valance corners better than the goodmark panel.  I know AMD was aware of the fitment issue and said they were working on making it better so may be worth a call to them and ask.

I just put my AMD rear valance in place. It fits like a glove and meets the end caps "OK" but not perfect. I will need to fill the seam a bit to make it a bit smaller.
However the bend in the panel where the bumper sits above is horrible compared to my original panel. The curve is way not sharp enough. I know its under the bumper but the fact that i know its not like I want it means I'm going to cut/hammer/weld/grind the outer edges till its a little better.

I also have the idea that the panel bends inwards towards, the end caps. Too bad I cant compare it enough to my old panel since it was kinda banged up from a rear end collission...

however all in all I think the fitment is great and some additional body work is normal. Back in the days none of these bodys were the same....

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Finally got this rear window corner taken care of.  Don think I have any pics of this before but it was off by about 1/2".  Its looking good now. Big relief as I was worried that this spot would never look right.

Great job. You really have to testfit and reshape that part using the trim pieces. I did'nt use repop metal but fabbed my own pieces but did the same as you. It only needs minimal filler to get the corner smooth.
If you dont do this you could end up with ugly gaps when the car is painted.

Its ridiculously time consuming dont you agree? but probably worth it in the end.....

It becomes a long piece isnt it when on a rotisserie?

I also have mine diagonally in my shop to be albe to close the shop door

Looks like a nice piece. Cant miss one of those imo when tackling a job like that. I had my first project car as a teenager almost 17 years ago on a set of wooden blocks wich was a real pain in the a*s to weld holes in the floors with all the weld spatter landing in your face. Wouldnt want to go back to that  ::)

Looks good,Ryan. That's the same style of connectors I'm making for mine. I have the metal, now I just need to get off my ass and do it.

I ordered mine 3 days ago.

Problem is I'm on the wrong side of the atlantic so it will probably take another 2 weeks before I can put them in place.... :eyes:
