physically I'm going with the third, factoring in the time it's been around you're looking at the fourth.

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,26995.0.html

The rumored car that I saw pics of didn't have a useable wing on it.  The broken parts of it were there but the pics I saw were of a car that looked like it had been run over by a bulldozer.  It couldn't have donated any part save for a VIN tag and most certainly not the wing in question in this thread.
Now as for this other one that is supposed to be underwater, I can't comment there.

I still think they are the same piece just cut down because off the car they look identical  just shorter

I understood they were slightly swept back, more of an angle to the rear?  I dont know really one of the experts would have to say.

The 'Bird uprights are swept back more...I was referring to the center section...I just measured mine...it's 57-1/2" long...who has one from a 'Bird to measure....I was always under the impression they were the same...

If not, I sit corrected

I have the daytona wing and the superbird wing sitting side by side in the shop. I'll try to remember to measure them tomorrow, but I'm almost sure that the horizontal blades are the same length.
Remember the pic of the 69 runner at creative that had one daytona upright and one superbird upright?

I stand corrected.  :D

I measured my wings today and they're definitely different. My real Superbird wing blade measures 55 3/8 inches and the hollow aluminum Daytona wing blade that Dane made measures 57 1/4. Seems like my fiberglass Janek Daytona wing was just over 57 iinches as well.

I'm curious as to what the length of the blade is on a 3rd gen wingcar. They're definitely longer since the wing uprights are mounted right on the edge of the quarter panels.

Well, so far we got 3 length values for the Daytona wing...mine is original, came from one of the race cars in '69...measures exactly 57-1/2" long....wonder how many other lengths there are?  :shruggy:

Danes wing blades may not be identical to the originals. Not a problem for me.
In my opinion, the true correct length would be whatever the street version oem Daytona wings measure out to.
My Superbird wing is definitely a real oem wing so my measurement is correct for a Superbird wing.
Don't ask for any more measurements off of my Daytona wing though, It's in the paint booth to be painted tomorrow. And, I'm serious. I really am painting it along with my deck lid. The hinges were already painted so I can get a few things bolted on this week.
I'll take pics tomorrow to prove it to everyone.  :icon_smile_big:

I have to re-paint the wing. I missed a flaw on the left upright up under the wing blade. I sanded it down today and hopefully will re-paint it tomorrow. I'l cut and buff the deck lid this weekend and install the parts on Sunday if all goes well. I still have to make the wing washers. I have a fiberglass one to go by to make something that looks acceptable.

As for the cloner, we've talked about jumping in the middle of it and finishing it up in time to take it to St. Louis. Branson's in two weeks so that show is out of the question. We plan to take two of the cudas and the wingrunner to the Branson show. At least I can drive something with a wing.
With my son working with me now, you guys might be surprised at how fast some things get finished. We've accepted several new resto projects though and that will slow us up some. Brent's specialty is the mechanical side but he has some experience with paint and painting. He worked at our old paint store as a paint rep for a while. The only problem with him working at the shop is that I have to actually get up and do something now. ;D

We spent most of the day messing around with the black runner. The six-barrel and 4-speed are in. It's starting to look like a car again.
