Welcome to Wingy World!
Greetings Glen,
I assume you and I spoke several weeks ago. congratulations on sealing the deal. if you have questions this is definitely the place to ask. Looks like a very nice car.
Enjoy,
Brennan R. Cook
Thanks for the welcome. Brennan, yes we did talk a couple weeks ago. This is not the one we were talking about, the numbers were not matching on the lemon twist bird here in Michigan, also the motor was missing like a john deere tractor, and after looking further per our conversation, I decided to pass on that car. It worked out in my favor, as I found this B5 Blue one about the same time, this one is a matching numbers car. I looked at for about a month, purchased from Fast Lane Cars, They are a stand up dealership!! Fast lane agreed to have the car repainted because of minor flaws with the old paint, they also rechromed the rear bumper, replaced the carpet and installed a new headliner and highly detailed the car. RM23U0A166214 If any info on the car is known from any one here it would greatly be appreciated.
Old club records show Vincent Plotino ? of Teaneck New Jersey being a former owner.

Welcome, lots to learn on this site. That blue shines awesome in the pics. Nice car.
Congrats. Rob
Very nice looking car.
I have a low mileage B5 bird in the shop right now that we're repainting. It's a real six pack, 4-speed, dana car and the owner has mentioned selling it if anyone's looking for a bird. It's not matching numbers. The original driveline was stolen very early in the car's life. I think there's 30K on the speedo now and it's the correct mileage.
that car was a no sale just a couple months ago at Mecum St Charles--I took special note of the car as it was just 8 numbers after mine (166206.) I liked the car a lot but it really needed some detailing and a new paint job, which it apparently got. The body was in nice shape, and now I wish I had taken more pictures!
Congrats, and please bring the car out to club events--you'll have a blast!
Super car, love the B5, probably my fav color on the birds.
In the Daytona Superbird Auto Club files, we have some info and correspondence on the car going back to 1983. If you will PM me your address, I will snail mail it to you at no charge. You may be able to track the former owner down.
I got all the superbird newsletters .Will see If I can find the issue.I recall Vinnie Platino featuring a story about buying the car

Plotino bought it in recent years. He would be easy to contact. I think he is still a DSAC member.
Thanks so much for the info, I did get to talk with Louis the last owner since mid 90s and got some further info on the car of the time period that he owned it. You guys are awesome and a great deal of help. Thanks.
Congrats! That is a beautiful car for sure!!

b5 is the best color for a superbird.. or a daytona...
For me it's Limelight. :yesnod:
:yesnod:
Corporate (Petty) Blue is my first choice for a 'Bird, followed by LimeLight.
I'd probably go for B5 on a Daytona.
