Yard sale Mopar magazines

I’m trying really hard not to fall into the old man trap of going on about “back in my day” and “they didn’t cost that much when I was a kid” but I picked up some mid-90s Mopar magazines and saw this ad from Mancini Racing.  I looked online and $1500 in ‘95 was only $2500 in 2019 dollars.  A 426 block and heads for $3100?  ($5200 in 2019)

Way back when I had Sinnamon on the first go round when I still lived around Detroit probably around '79 IIRC.  Mancini's was a little shop off 7 Mile.   I'd go there to get my Direct Connection stuff off the shelf. 

Somehow I got talking with them and I got told they'd build me a Hemi anyway I wanted it for about $2500.   Well that was a butt-ton of $ for a HS senior at the time so that's about as far as the negotiations went.  I left the 440 in it... which is now on a dolly under the bench in the garage.

 Yeah    , I use to collect all the mopar mags from when they first started till about 8 years ago, then gave them all away. I remember all those Mancini & Kollier dodge  adverts , wish I would have bought a OEM style 426 none Siamese Hemi block at the time , but never factored in they would go away again, after  Chrysler / MP  investing all that dough to reproduce then again, wish I would have bought a OEM style MP  iron 440 none Siamese  block but with 4 bolt mains, too , like I say thought now they were casting them, they would be round forever type thing
