I keep forgetting to post the outcome of my GTX project. Here is the old thread where I was soliciting opinions on Hemi engine builder options:
http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,116304.msg1444060.html#msg1444060
So, I went with Tim Banning/ForHemisOnly, and COULD NOT be more pleased to recommend him. It was the kind of experience that has me coming up with an excuse to do another car, just for the joy of having him build me another custom engine. My 572 made 813 hp, 790 tq, using a very mild solid roller cam. This engine should last a long, long time, yet produces killer performance, and all on pump gas. Also, I put in a GearVendors overdrive, and now I can cruise 2250 rpm at 80 mph on the interstate, with my 3.73s in the Dana 60, behind my 833 4-speed.
I am going to try my hand at posting some photos the correct way, through an offsite photo-hosting company (photobucket, in this case). Hope this goes as planned.

Hood! It dont need no stinking hood mang. It needs a tail stripe and a number on it! That thing is BAD ASS!
Awesome car and engine.
What cam and specs?
Did you post dyno somewhere?
:o :drool5:
SWEET !!!!!!!!
How do you forget to post updates about a car like that one? Beautiful machine, though...
That's a great looking car....luv it ! :drool5: :drool5: :drool5:
Tim's shop is a few hours down the road from me. Been there a few times....definitely a top shelf facility with great folks. Last time I was there he had at least a dozen Hemi's waiting to be shipped all over the planet. Several were destined for Europe and a few down under. :icon_smile_cool:

Thanks, guys. The hood for it should be finished by the body shop in the next week or so. I went with a hemi dart-style scoop. Whole hood will be satin black (note the satin finish on the rest of the car, too). I will try to remember to update the thread with a shot of the hood when it is done. Cam is a custom-ground one from Comp Cams. I don't want to give out too much info, in case Tim prefers not to give away his secrets.
Great choice of the hood, it'll be spectacular with the black wheels. Gotcha on the cam deal.
Wow that is super nice. :2thumbs: I like the understated exterior and interior look and you can't go wrong with the 67 GTX styling.
Great looking ride!

That is one great looking engine! :drool5: Sweet looking GTX, too. Just a teensy bit jealous over here... ;D
Thanks, everybody! I did just get the hood back on it today, and I am very happy with how it turned out.

I went to a local car cruise last night, to debut the new GTX hood. I let my 17 year-old son drive the GTX so I could watch/listen to the car in motion. He was pretty tickled. Too bad the weather turned crappy- it was a pretty thin herd of cars at the event.
