Title: 68 Charger engine & transmission install question
Post by: 68moparbob on September 23, 2018, 06:54:31 PM
I am about ready to install the engine and transmission 1as an assembly in my 68 Charger R/T (440). I'll be installing it from the bottom.  Will the stock exhaust manifolds clear the  shock tower area?  How about the dipstick tube. It looks very close. Any tips? I've never installed an assembly from the bottom.

Everything will clear, but I would pull the dipstick tube and install it separately.  Remember, factory just lowered the body on the entire chassis with the engine and trans already assembled.

Yes everything will fit . That's why it so great to install from the bottom. Don't have to spend hours uncomfortably leaning over the fenders installing it all in the engine compartment. build it outside the car with nothing in your way so much easier !

Dipstick tube? Install now or after the engine is in?
