Title: KYB front shocks for a 73' ?
Post by: moparbryan on August 13, 2005, 09:15:52 PM
does anyone know if the front shocks for a 73' charger will interchange w/a 72'. KYB (as well as all the other manuf.) only list part #'s for 66-72 cars. They do list #'s for the rear's but none for the front? I'm sure I can get the O.E. type  but am looking for a stiffer performance shock thanks for any help :smilie_help:

KYB gas-adjust shocks are available for the rear, but KYB only lists their GR2 shocks for the front.   The GR2's aren't as good, but they're still KYB quality.

I would say is on the other way... 71/72 think are longer because they bolts on inner fender, and 73/74 top of shocks bolts on a plate closer to lower arm than inner fender.

I thought all B-body front shocks from 1962 to 1975 were the same length.

Maybe, but if that's true, then would be untill the ends of 70s (79) when B bodies was gone since front end is the same since 73 for B bodies

I'm curious now.  I'll try and investigate further with some local parts people.

when I swapped on a 73 rallye, I had to get the GR2 type for the front, company said they were normally a mustang application [?]
They bolted in fine though.

guys go to napa.com or autozone.com,you can punch in your own car and look up your own parts.another option is to go to monroe or any other shock companys website.there are parts out there that the average counter man doesn't know about.but at lthe lease you will have a part# thay can order.
