Each one has their good and bad points.
I get tired of seeing shows where they fake the drama to create tension where it isn't actually that way. I get annoyed seeing the typical shows where they have the token guy with tattoos, a mohawk or unusual piercings. How about those bullshit beards?? Dave KIndig seems cool but that beard looks dumb as shit, same with Aaron Kaufman.
GYC....Why do people replace the letter S with the letter Z ? Carz? Again, it looks stupid. If you have a quality show, you don't need stupid gimmicks. Mark Worman seems like a reasonably knowledgeable guy. Dave Rea too. I wish he would STOP saying.."We bring cars back to exactly the way they were when they were born..." First up, cars are never BORN, they are built. Secondly, no classic Mopar ever had a base & clear coat paint job. None ever had the underside painted black, even the black cars didn't get fully painted underbody panels. Mark should say...."We restore these cars to better than new condition".

Wheeler Dealers "was" about the best one on there, (my opinion). but they got rid of Ed. :P  Ed's a mechanic that became a celebrity.  Ant is vice versa, and tries to hard. I waited a few weeks before watching the first one with Ant.

In my opinion, Velocity shows are crap, sorry.

I only tuned into it towatch the episodes of Wheeler Dealers with Edd. Haven't seen the new episodes with Ant, but consensus seems to be the new episodes follow the old formula. Still, I'm not really interested anymore since Edd left.

Old episodes of Roadkill have started airing on Velocity, so at least they have that. Every other show on that channel is unwatchable.

I watch Motor Trend on Demand, or the internet, for my car show fix. Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Hot Rod Garage, Modified, The Racing Line, etc. All good shows. Also, Mighty Car Mods is fantastic too. And the internet version of Jay Lenos garage is pretty good.

Velocity just feels like Bravo Channel for men to me.

I like GYC just fine but fixing a mopar back to perfect original condition isn't for me. I like adding headers, cams, stroker kits, aftermarket carbs and intakes etc......  I did see them rebuild a General Lee on there which was cool since no charger was a General from the factory. I do like the blonde on there, she is easy to watch  ;D I like fantom works fine and the garage squad episodes. Garage squad is the closest thing to a shade tree kinda like my backyard that I have seen in a long time and the blonde on that show is pretty too!!!

Wheeler Dealers is mostly about crappy foreign cars, that were junk when they were made.

I have a love-hate with GYC.  The mopar history lessons are awesome, but the rest of the 'drama' and Mark's humor is beyond me.

Wheeler Dealers is not the same without Edd, but still a far better show than most. Chasing Classic Cars has its moments. I forget the names, but the two shows about the shops that do mostly high end restos (one's in Canada and one's in N. Carolina, i think) are ok most of the time.

Bitchin Rides / Texas Metal / Iron Resurrection / and so on are all basically the same show in a different shop/city. Theyre all trying to be the next American Hot Rod (which even then was only good for a season or so) I watch them depending on what car they're working on.

I do get Velocity and Discovery shows mixed up, but I did like that show where the two guys traveled throughout the world trying to find rare cars, even if the drama/scuffles were kinda fake. Also liked Mexicanicos. Some cheesy builds but appreciate the work that goes into them.

Yeah...thanks for that. Foreign...as in mostly old British cars!  Of course US built cars of the late 60s and early 70s were all of the highest possible build quality...I can tell that by the curtains of paint runs inside my Chargers trunk/door jams and the quality welding and spot welding..the standard of which i I would not trust on my wheelbarrow! Still love them to death though!  :2thumbs:

BOT....I wish I could even get to see some of these shows....cars shows here are very few and far between..and ones on modded cars don't exist.

We don't even have them....apart from Wheeler Dealers (mainly Brit cars)  we don't really have any car restoration shows! Get the very odd US program (old episodes of Graveyard Carz) on the freeview  channels....but nothing else. Wonder If I can get the US ones online somewhere???

GYC does nothing but assemble the cars back together. They don't even weld there, and Worman is a total jackass. I wish there was another Mopar show to watch.

I did not like GYC when it had Darren, the forced yelling and drama were so disappointing, that i did not even enjoy the Mopars they were working on (which i need the info for when i start the rebuild on mine).

to me the quality of the show went through the roof with the new painter guy and Mark's daughter, with less BS Drama and YELLING.

YouTube man, YouTube. Motor Trend posts (some of) their month old shows on there free. I love Roadkill, Engine Masters, and Hot Rod Garage. No fake deadlines, no reality show drama  B.S. Plus, a ton of other shows to watch.

Also, Motor Trend on Demand is only 5 bucks a month. And they offer a ton of content you can't get on YouTube or cable. I highly recommend it. You can even sign up and cancel the very next month if you want.  No contracts. It's car guy tv heaven.

Also, I should mention that a member of this very site, Mike Musto (Mr. Angry) hosts his very own show on MTOD called "The House of Muscle". He features various classic muscle cars and the owners. He's a Mopar guy and alot of his shows slant towards them, but he features everything. It's worth checking out.

Dave (bichin rides)  doesn't even get his hands dirty. Love the shop and talent there.
Same goes for most of these 100K (per car) shops on Velocity.  Just think..100k per car, and money seems no big deal to lot of these customers.

Just because he doesn't get his hands dirty today doesn't mean he hasn't earned what he has . His business was huge before tv Andy will be after tv. GYC was just a small shop before the tv money. Plus Mark likely does just enough to make it look like he's involved. His guys to the heavy lifting too. It's how it's been for years. People get older they slow down.

I bet if it comes down to it, Dave would get his hands dirty, even play with fiberglass.  However, there does need to be someone that will shake the hands and kiss the babies, to draw in business.

I guess Bitchin is probably the better show currently on TV. I really liked Wheeler Dealers although the last two seasons were not as good as the previous ones. And once Edd left that was it for me really. Edd was the reason to keep watching.

I have enjoyed Fantomworks but the owner gets on my nerves with his whole doom and gloom attitude every 5 minutes.

Can't say I like any of the other shows. I can enjoy a true build show all day long, but this scripted shit is just too much for me anymore.

Cars are starting to mean less and less to me as well, that doesn't help.   ;)

Dan Is Ex-Military and I understand his frustration on shit jobs he took on.

Canadians are "Restoration Garage" and the company is "The Guild of Automotive Restorers". They have web content/videos on their site too:
http://www.guildclassiccars.com/

Some of it is cheesy and some of the budgets are obscene but the quality of work seems incredible.
