Here is the picture of the brace under the dash. Not sure where it connects? Anyone know?? Thanks
It is on my he wrong side and should be up higher and to the front.
its loose and just hanging there. Where does it connect? Right now it is just connect to the brake pedal assembly. Seems like it should connect up into the cowl?
Thanks
I have pictures somewhere, as I had to redo my braces, but for the life of me can't find the damn pictures. I'll keep looking...

I tried to find it in the FSM but could not find it
Anyone know where this connects?
Thanks
It is one of the braces that attach to the frame of the brake pedal. I'm looking for my old pics.
Found my old pics, here's one. Let me know if you need more.
i only have one brace? It is connected to the brake pedal loosely and I can't figure out where the other side connects? It does not align with another hole. Does it connect to the underside of the cowl?
Somewhere to the steering column support down the cowl... it seems at driver side it get 2 of them

If you only have one brace then you are missing some. My 69 had 3 braces. Are 68's different?
If it's the same as a 69 then I would guess the brace you show is on the wrong side of the brake pedal bracket.
I was wrong. I have three. Two towards the passenger side and the one that I am struggling with is let's say on the drivers side.
Forgot to ask if you have a stick shift car? If so then all my info may be wrong. If it's a auto then we're ok.
Here's a picture of the driver side of my car. No braces.
Second pic shows my finger on the shaft that I think you're talking about. It is a brace inside the brake pedal bracket, see?
Third pic - just to make sure, here is a better pic of the three shafts and their attachment points.
My 68 has another brace on the left ?

CDR, when you put up that pic, it jogged my memory and I think there was a thread on here about that brace. I can't remember what the details of the discussion where. Do you still have the three on the pass side?
OOPs, just looked at the WHOLE pic and can see the other three.
I was of the understanding that the left side long brace wasn't used with a Rallye dash and only with the regular instrument clusters.

I dont know, my 68 Charger had it & had not been apart, it still has the brace & rally dash, it does make it VERY hard to connect the left lower ac duct. :shruggy:
Okay.. I had one I picked up to install in my Bee but left it out from what I'd read here.. somewhere.. last year that that brace wasn't put in Rallye dash cars. Maybe I'll pull it off the shelf and put it in. Thanks.
I always thought the long brace was if you had a clutch pedal and needed a little more support
I wrecked a 68 Coronet parts car and it was a 4 spd car and had that brace
Like I said earlier, it's hanging down on the wrong side of the brake assembly. Unattach it and look at the pics that others have sent. I can't send a pic on my iPad. There should be three rods to attach in the same area.
Thanks guys So helpful. Unfortunately have not been around the car in the last several days to reconcile what y'all posted.
Here's another angle shot.
