French-Canadian, I'd guess. They'd be hysterical if I tried to write an ad in French.

someone should! some one could get ripped off
Looks like it was white. Am I reading the tag correctly that it was a black/black car to begin with?
So, just out of curiosity... a real, numbers matching, 36k mile Charger 500 converted to a Hemi 4-speed Daytona is worth what? Starting bid at $100k doesn't sound terribly unreasonable if you had to build it.
If the owner believes (believed?) it was a Daytona would he have done the Hemi 4-speed swap and color change when he already had the numbers drive train? Especially recently?

If it was a black 69 500 cloned to a daytona it was on here before guy bought tags off ebay I think

The White "engine shot" provided is actually from a 1971 Dodge Challenger
I had to call this guy for the hell of it, he is a SCAMMER. You could hear laughing in the background, they know exactly what they have and are trying to pass it off as a Daytona.
Just sent him an email, sounds like it's going to go on laughing deaf ears......

This is the reason I am very critical of many of the car listings, this guy is a not very smart at what he is doing, actually he is pretty stupid, but there are some guys out there that ARE very smart, and to most people seem legit, unless you live on eBay and know all the tipoffs of SCAM.

This car's tag. Same tag that Tan top posted. Fake car :flame:
Like I said earlier the black tags went on to a hemi orange daytona clone

spacing and alignment on the (new) VIN tag looks like crap on the Charger/500/Daytona
:eek2:
why would a 69 have 68 dash and console? :shruggy:
I went back over the pics and you have to love the classy wiring job done on the tail lights!! also I noticed a trunk floor plug missing, This guy is a douche.
How rare is a black/black 500? That had to be a tough sight back then.
The car was sitting a wrecking yard near Delta BC Canada in the late 80s. It's a red stripe car too. The second owner was a Wing Warrior Member. 8-16-1976 the car had 54,138 on the odometer. Also had rear defroster. The tags sold on ebay for $500. The 500 was scrapped after the tags were removed. :brickwall:
, Black, Yes, Auto, Dale Vidulich Delta BC Canada". That got me thinking, there was a guy on Ebay selling a Vin tag and a fender tag from a black on black C500 a few months ago. He was also located in BC. Im thinking, could the tags be from the car thats on your list?
http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,10673.0.html
Yes, same car. The tags for this clone on ebay were on ebay a few years ago. I contacted the seller to inquire about the car as it is in the WW file as a known car and he said it was sitting in a local B.C. wrecking yard years prior.
On Jan-24-13 at 10:22:46 PST, seller added the following information:
This Dodge Charger 1969 was converted into Dodge Charger Daytona 1969
I can hear it now from the "rebody crowd" that there is absolutely nothing wrong with swapping or making reproduction VIN tags.
I tried to buy those tags when they were on eBay back then to keep something like from happening.

Look at the bright side Danny, at least it's documented on here. That means there is less chances for someone getting ripped off by the fake VIN tag swapper. :Twocents:
I posted pics of this car here before, it's a local... Owner was doing a lot of wheelin' and dealin' back in th 80's when people were a lot less knowledgeable and he seems to think it will still work... He's got a few "hemi" cars and "Shelbys". You are right about it being an "enveloppe" car, it' a regular Charger with fiberglass pieces. He used to get away with selling rusty Chargers for big money here, but now he's well-known, and with the availability of body panels now, he has a hard time getting rid of his rust buckets...
He does have a few real cars he keeps, for instance, there is a 54 Vette in the basement of his restaurant that can be seen through a thick piece of glass in the floor!

Though I don't condone it, I can actually understand the logic of buying 500 tags to rebody another car into a 500 in an effort to re-create it.
But why someone would buy 500 tags to rebody another car into a Daytona has me scratching my head. :shruggy:

There is another red Hemi Daytona clone that's in my earlier post that was linked to a few posts above. That one is represented as a 70 Charger. It has probably more value than the cobbled-up one, even if that one has a "real" XX29 VIN. It was a dumb decision to make it into a Daytona instead of a 500, but knowing the owner, he wanted the more outlandish look of the Wing Car...
back on again

the guy seems pretty sure its not a Rebody  maybe he went & bought the body :shruggy: :scratchchin: , :pigsfly:

Rebodying is a felony.... There are plenty of folks doing time for it.
Why would a guy expose himself on ebay? (hmmm, that sounds funny... :smilielol:)

This guy still thinks it's the 80's...where that sort of thing was more common...

He is the guy at the local swaps with charger fenders that have holes the size of your fist in them for $500. He hasn't realized its not 1995 anymore.
Someone needs to send him a link to this thread :)
Sounds like he has seen it - based on the ad changing..... :scratchchin:

Nice

yeah was thinking that too , once your known for any iffy goings on !! makes you wonder what else is real or fake ! seller can never be trusted with anything ever again :yesnod: :Twocents:
He should just stick the original tag and vin back on the car and sell it with them. Its too scary with the wrong tags to even go anywhere near it. Plus who needs the hassle.
I don't really have any problem with clones or tributes, not everyone can afford a real Daytona or a 500 even, but don't try to pawn them off as being a, real Daytona or even a 500... damn frauds :brickwall:

He has quite a few cars, this one is legit. Most of the other cars were ''restored'' in the 80's-90's, with parts and knowledge of that day, but never updated. Can't say he has a very good reputation locally, he does have some real valuable cars, like a 54 Vette and more Shelby's
back on !! changed ad , made more specific it was a C500 , converted to a Daytona , starting bid ! lower too at 50k

Title sounds like it is being advertised as a C500.
