Has anyone got ideas for a good cleaning product that will remove layers of that interior "shine-ola" crap off of vinyl seats?
Thanks! :2thumbs:
Scrubbing Bubbles, soft brush.
Mothers vinyl cleaner. :yesnod:
Marine clean. The stuff that Por15 sells to clean metal before using the metal prep. I use it all the time on interior stuff. It removes all of the crap down to the vinyl. It works as good as SEM's vinyl prep, but doesn't soften the vinyl in preparation for topcoating.
I use Scrubbing Bubbles. With white seats in both cars ... works great!
Excellent for the tires too, has a small amount of bleach in it.

for things like this , the initial clean of any interior part , I use industrial carpet shampoo , little bit stronger mix to what ever the MDS says , pour it together with hot / warm water , into a squirty bottle , spray seats & don't go mad , then rub with a micro fibber cloth , then wipe it down with clean water & dry . then use your favourite appropriate cleaner ,
works for me , even when ive bought salvage cars in the past that belonged to heavy
smokers , I know not the same , but ...

That makes two of us. I've used it on leather seats and cloth. Unbelievable results for 50 cents and a trip to the dollar store.
However, it does not contain bleach. It's ammonium chloride and just as caustic. So I always test a spot. I also use a vynil or leather conditioner when finished.
Strangely enough, it doesn't do much for carpet.
Thanks for the advice. I did try Wesley's bleach-white and it did take some off, but not a lot. This crap is on there!

"shine-ola" crap
 :smilielol:
I personally would love to kick the nutz of the guy that started the whole silicone dressing fad.
TB, give Meguiar's Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner a shot. :Twocents:
If that fails, try Purple Power cleaner/degreaser. You can dilute it a bit, might be worth a shot to remove the greasy residue.

Interesting SD, I have been using it for years and I thought I read bleach on the label. BUT I must admit I haven't looked at the label in years. I'm thinking maybe they changed the formula at some point ... could be. But yes it still could do damage if you use it on the wrong material ... be careful.
What I have used on the carpets is this stuff. Zep High Traffic carpet cleaner, Home Depot product. Works well in the house too.
