hello, just needed some suggestions.. i converted my 69 charger to a disc brakes (10.5 as per vendor's description) and replaced the suspension. i got an american racing wheels when i tried to put it on, it's scratching the upper control arm. any suggestions on how to go about this? thank you very much in advance!

Is the rotor 1 piece or pressed 2 piece construction?, what kit?, what spindle, as well as wheel back space, wheel diameter? upper control arm application?
hello tan top, thanks for the reply.. it's the general lee vector wheels 15 X 8.5, i believe tha back space is 4.99". i got the disc brake set from summit racing (right stuff detailing). i put the old wheels back on, i didn't take pictures when we are trying it on.. the wheel was rubbing the lip of the upper control arm (that i got from autozone lol, not sure if i describe it right)...
day clona, the rotor description is vented, so i guess it's a 2 piece construction? not really familiar with it.
somebody recommended a spacer, i was thinking of the tubular control arm because it looks like the design tapers off by the ball joint...
will try to take a pic of the control arm that i have..

8.5" is pretty wide for stock front suspension. Usually I'd see 7 or 8 inch wide wheels on the front in 15's.
An easy fix is a wheel spacer. I used to have to run .25" spacers when I put Viper calipers on the front with 15" Cragars.
Yeah that's pretty wide and that's a lot of backspacing.
The new vector 8.5s will not clear the front. The origonal vector 8.5s will. Has nothing to do with your parts. A 245/60/15 fits those wheels up front nicely but if your front end sits low, they will hit the fender brace and front fender leading edge.

Wow... That car looks rough!
American Racing made the reproduction 15x8.5's with a different offset than the 15x7's (and all the originals).
I suspect it was done to avoid having to retool the shape of the styled area of the wheel more drastically. This way the depth of the styled area between the 15x7 repros and the 15x8.5 repros is only 1/2" different.

Here is the problem. 4.75" is the MAX backspace you can use on a 15" wheel. 4.99" is too much and will hit the control arm. Tubular arms are no better for this. Only solutions at this point are A) spacers or B) different backspace wheels.
