Title: Cheap, easy primer/coating to preserve bare metal body parts?
Post by: Daytona R/T SE on July 19, 2023, 08:24:51 AM
Is there some kind of Cheap, easy primer/coating to preserve bare metal body parts?

I've got several body parts that have been stripped to bare metal.

Some of them are getting "humidity rust" on them here in the steam bath of Illinois.

I'd like to lightly sand them down and spray them with something to preserve them.

This mystery substance should also be relatively cheap and easy to remove later.

The parts will be stored indoors.

Back in the dark ages, I would have just loaded up my gun with cheap lacquer primer and went at it.

 :shruggy:

I know lacquer is porous and not ideal for this, but it worked for me back in prehistoric times...

What is there out there now?
